In this video I show the LilPup Spray Foam proportioner machine that I am using to install spray foam in my home renovation project. I purchased this machine instead of a used Graco E-8 or E-10 and have been very happy with it.
Hey Brian, did you mix the foam in the drum with an air mixer prior to spraying? I noticed in the quad application guide it said to do so.... not sure if it’s really required or not.
Hey there I am looking at buying a used unit locally it is cheap and I am not able to try it out as he has no product to run , what can/ should I check . Does this equipment have a long life span ? Common things to replace
It's a pretty straight forward unit..... check that the pumps work. Pumps are from Grainger, so they are rebuildable and serviceable. Hoses are just paint hoses, so easy to replace if needed. Gun can be drilled out if it's clogged. That's about it. It's a rock simple unit that just works. Avoid using in cold weather or heat the components well to avoid issues. The warmer you get it the better it will work.
hi how much did you spend on equipment if i may ask, i spray foam my home last year i was using foam it green its good for small project not entire house
+mietek siekiera Hi, around $9,000 including air compressor and support equipment. Doing my own foam is about control and quality more than savings. I'm able to foam areas that wouldn't typically get foamed if I hired an applicator. An example of what I mean is that I am putting some foam in a few walls for sound control between adjacent rooms. It's easy to do with the equipment here. I'll also be renovating my garage and bringing it up to the same standards as the house next year.
Eric Jacobs Hi, I bought a 5 gallon metal bucket of Acetone from Sherwin Williams... it was about $65 and required me to drive all over to get it. I wound up pulling the nipple off of the bucket and with lineman's pliers. The hole that is left is just the right size for the pump. Be sure to grease the pump regularly. I grease it every day I operate. In hindsight, you could use a 5 gallon plastic bucket with a hole drilled in it. I was just worried about the acetone in a plastic bucket. What I have since found is that my purge bucket which is a plastic Home Depot bucket with a plastic lid on it will sit for a week and still have liquid acetone in it. In theory this could be reused, but I've not bothered. I only use it once. I used a holesaw to put a 2 inch hole in the plastic lid of the purge bucket.
thanks , 9k not included 55 gallon foam ?, what foam you are using and where i can buy online thanks again i just gathering info for the future i planning build 4 car carage
+mietek siekiera 9k for equipment.... and about 1K of that was for a 5hp 240v compressor from Harbor Freight. $200 for drum stands from Northern Tool... flimsy but functional. Foam is about $2k per 55 gallon set. I'm using Quadrant foam and having great results with it. Yield for closed and open cell are different... each has benefits and drawbacks. I'm on 4 sets right now.... like I said foam is not cheap but it has amazing performance.
Hey Brian, How much does a Barrel of A/B Closed cell cost and where can I get it from in Houston,TX. Also, I am thinking I would need certification to handle closed cell; is that true?
FYI there is a company that sells closed foam off eBay and they offer training for about $2k for 5,000 board feet and i here to find out where to find the equipment to spray
