Absolutely!! Go for it love. My biggest tip is to size your locs according to your hair and just do your best at straight partings-this helps a lot at your reties. :)

Do diluted shampoo in a bottle. Let it soak on your scalp for 20 minutes. Rinse in the shower.

Nooooo… don’t put oil in your hair it will take it longer to lock. But your hair looks great! Loc’ing was the best decision I ever made for my hair. I wish I had done it 10 years sooner!

when you say braid the whole perimeter do you mean you braided them at the root and then twisted or? This looks fantastic btw! I just cut my first set of locs that i also started from little two strand twist myself! I think next go round i will interlock. Beautiful job ❤ great tips as well!

Did you trim your ends before your twist? It all looks even. Just wondering if split ends would make a difference

Hi, I didn't trim "right" before my twist but I was trimming my hair every 2months bcz I was slowly cutting off my processed hair. So my hair was trimmed but not for the locs. About 4 inches of my hair is still chemically processed (bleached). I think if they are only split a little and you've been taking care of your hair I think you'll be fine.

So you don't really need to do the 2/3/4 point method when you twist?

You can start your locks with two strand twist and to keep them up (lock maintenance) you can either calm coil finger coil (which I call twist) because your twisting your new growth or Interlocks. The interlocks are the 2 3 or 4 point rotation. So just depends on what u like and thinks best for your hair

I bought that gel in store at Sally's, if they don't have it another in-store loc gel I like is by ORS, both can be found at Sally's and Walmart. Good luck on your start 🤗
