Looks great I have a 2014 Honda Civic and it does have a leather steering wheel that’s black but I want to add another layer of leather for thickness and also do blue stitching to make it match the car
Man... you made it look easy. Whats the link l can use to get the Eiseng brand from Amazon.Thank you Josh! I need to do my steeringwheel for my 04 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer.
I know this is a little late, but start your first stitch from the inside of the leather. Then your knot will be hidden, the leather won't bunch up on you and you won't feel the knot.
How do you secure it at the end of the strand of twine? I gather when you loop around with the twine, you are looping through the existing twine on the skin of the leather also? I've tried this before, and always botched it at the end of the section, where to hide the ball of twine. Your example came out fantastic and looks simple to attach.
@@imjoshv I actually contacted Mewanten and figure out that the cover I got is for a slightly different version of the steering wheel I have. They are helping getting it done right. Thanks for your help.
The wrinkles are not gonna lay down on it's own. These wraps/covers are never tight enough to pass muster and not look like an amateur did it. Better to recondition the original leather or patch it if it's torn.
