Love the build just not to keen on the finish... I bet it's durable though.. sub woofer gasket would have been great as the mounting surface is rough... brilliant enclosure overall and those corner claps are 👌👌 New subscriber 😀

You can countersink the screws and then use some wood filler to fill the tops and smooth off when set. Once covered or painted you'll never be any the wiser.

Nice work for a sealed box, it sounds terrific!, these type of boxes are great for listening to music, however I'd have chosen a ported box for home use since at home I mostly watch movies and good videos like this one!!! thank you!

I've gt the 10" version of this sub in a ported box powered by a 1,000 watt DSP amp. It's dead flat to 20Hz and SQ is great on the Dayton HF subs!

Just my 2 cents based on my latest box that I made that came out perfect. Here are improvements that I highly recommend: - Add another layer of MDF on the front panel to make it extra thick, and add another layer on the back also. - Add bracing and pine wood battons (1.5" x 1.5") around entire box with coarse threaded screws, the box for my one 12" sub weighs 100 lbs. and is a 17" cube, inside it almost looks like a solid block mdf with just enough space carved out for the speaker to fit. - Add threaded inserts to be able to remove the bolts that hold the speaker down in case you need to remove the speaker or swap it out with another one. - Add a gasket/rope caulk around speaker and plate amplifier, this seals the box 100% from any air leaks. - Caulk wires directly from speaker to outside, don't use any connection with a plastic anything. Either straight wire through the box or a solid binding post that is caulked through the box walls. - Duratex is a great sealer/paint, looks like you used that product as well :)

Very nice build (as always). I am a bit sad that there aren't as many vids, but I understand why. Plus, it is better to have quality vids over a big quantity.

you should do a project with a Passive radiator, im sure your followers would love to learn. im building one cabnet internal 15" woofer split internal with dual external radiators

Nice build! However, just a heads up that the back amp plate should not be in direct contact with the moving air mass. It should be sealed. If you build a bigger sealed sub with a 15" speaker with a 400/800W (RMS) plate amp, you will hear the rattling of the plate and its components as well as air passing on the lower freqs.

I like titebond III's new design, much more simplistic and to the point

Using that finish really makes It look like a box from jbl, qsc, ev, rcf or any other professional live sound reinforcement company. I'm about to build 2 duel 18 boxes for my pa since I don't want to spend 6k on a ground stack line array lol. Nice video

Sub box or cat house?

great job but needs more bracing. An inert box is the most important part of a sub.

you should go for a 2 inch speaker and try and get the best bass out of it, would be a nice thing to see :D

Studio subwoofer you should invest on some MTX Jackhammer speakers loud enough to rip the paint off the wall and bust your windows especially in your car with a put and you need a forklift to put them in your car no joke you're falling on yesterday man how about today we can get into some heavy-duty banging man

Confident about no air leaks with that finish? would've been epic if the sub was recessed, did you think of that after you did the cutout? still possible with a rabbiting bit, but would've been easier with the baffle still intact still epic

nice video. it should sound tight, because of the closed design. why didnt u used stuffing on the inside? btw i prefer large ported designs. its more efficient in the low end. i also builded my home theatre subwoofer. i used a sundown audio woofer (normally used in cars) for it :) keep up the good work

The build is very nice, very clean but the foam u put in there was not the right type of foam.. it’s only gonna absorb medium to high frequency, 0 low end u should had put some rock wool

Why don't you use Engine paint, sets really hard and don't chip so easy, then clear coating after and letting cure for 24hrs sets in another layer of protection for the nice paint job, and a deep shine.
