Im pretty sure he misunderstood how to bypass the BPC. You connect a hose directly from the port on the compressor housing to the port on the wastegate... He mistakenly connected the "w" and "c" ports on the BPC which I dont think does anything because the C port is the input port. Disconnect that and the valve wont do anything because it has no pressure to work with anymore.
very very good helpful video thank you,,,,, very good important thing to watch,,,the top of my valve blew off after I fitted a new original turbo,,i drove car to warm engine the pushed to 5800rpm 4 times or 6 and blew valve off,,it fell apart..,,steve in Australia
my bpc valve is reading at 7.4 is that okay? I know nearly .5+ resistance in some applications can make a difference. You said it should be at around 7
Ï might have this problem! Because on wide open throttle on first and second gear it goes good. but when open throttle on third, fourth and fifth i get stuttering. on low rpm and when i push the pedal wide open i get massive stuttering. and when i already am on higher rpm i still get stuttering but not as heavy. u think that the BPC is my problem?
***** solved the problem! was completly crap sparkplugs from the aftermarket store, bought a set of high end NKG one and it is running better than it was new!
i know this is old video but do some ome knwo what can cause sometimes (not allways) stuttering when accelerating, and only when accelerating. Could it be this valve and btw the engine is the 3,0 TiD and yeas the problem goes away when i disconnect this valve connector.
Hey, nice explanation and I wish I had seen this video before today, which was not a good day for me. Would you be interested in diagnosing my very strange turbo problem? Car is a 9-5, 2004 (Arc) and was driving fine (with good turbo boost) except for just a red check engine light. Went to a garage and he said there were two codes, P1662 and P1110. Came back to the garage this morning, and had the Turbo Charger Boost Pressure Valve replaced; later on, a broken vacuum hose was found and fixed. When I drove away, as soon as I got into 2nd gear and 3rd gear, the rev counter went into the red, the engine light was flashing.... I turned around on the highway, but the garage had closed. It was barely OK in 4th gear, but 5th gear was fine at 45mph - 65mph. So I had to limp home 70 miles ....and strangely, slowly the problem lessened... and it seemed completely fixed, with full turbo power when I arrived in my town! But 5 minutes after parking, I re-started the car, and the problem is clearly still there, only not so bad. Now what? I cant go back to these guys, obviously... Your thoughts on the cause? Some dirt maybe somewhere? Or fragments of the rotted hose rubber? Thanks much for any help :o)
If you look at the APC/BCV all 3 hose connections are named. (W, R and C) W is to the wastegate actuator, R is to the infeed (the cobra pipe) and C is connected to the Compressor on the turbo housing.
so if I disconnected it and it feels the same (boost only into mid yellow) then my part is bad? I read the opposite on a forum. Just double checking before I order a part
