Materials:
Canvas 60x90"
Large off cut cotton cloth I got from a material shop on mark down
Dye - Kalahari sand
Wallpaper adhesive
Staple gun and staples

I like how yours came out. I see people turning them over to staple the fabric, and I wonder why/if it doesn't crush the folds and textures of the front? Does the glue or paste hold up that well? This has some really lovely shadows. You did a beautiful job. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve seen artists use gauze strips from the chemist that already had plaster in it. Just run it through some water & arrange it on a canvas & it dries.

Old sheets work well. When they're washed a million times, they become soft. No need to buy anything special!

It looks great but when I make one, I think I’ll use a natural sponge & the same colour dye & pounce dye over the wrinkles. It would give it more depth.

I’d like to know the same thing. If I were to guess it’s joint compound the sheet over that. Hopefully we’ll get an answer soon. Beautiful work.

Looking at this makes me think that if you want a faster, easier, cheaper way to do this, try glue stick on canvas and then cover it with white paint or gesso. :)

In the end she used wallpaper paste. It comes dry. You add water & stir it up.

Lovely. I wish you had had more details such as what kind of fabric you used? The size of the fabric & of the canvas? What the total cost was to make this? Ya know, stuff we would like to know when watching a tutorial.
