I am just blown away that those beautiful wooden floors throughout the entire house were covered by hideous wall-to-wall allergy nightmare carpet and super-busy visual clutter linoleum. The kitchen and the front porch were transformed from ugly, dark, and busy to gorgeous. And the outside! This was a great job. Very well done.
@@NeccoWecco I looked it up. I found 2 independent studies (not funded by the flooring industry). A 2008 study concluded that carpet is safe for allergies as long as it's vacuumed and shampoo'd regularly. Got to clean it constantly. A 2018 study concluded that "...use of carpets is linked to increased levels of indoor dusts, allergens, and microorganisms, and associated with increased risk of a number of health outcomes including mild cognitive effects, irritative symptoms, and asthma." And they always end with "seek the advice of a physician". Mayo Clinic advises "Remove carpeting and use hardwood or linoleum flooring and washable area rugs. If that isn't an option, use low-pile instead of high-pile carpeting and vacuum weekly with a vacuum cleaner that has a small-particle or high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. Shampoo the carpet frequently." Basically, allergens become trapped in carpet fibers. Every step on the carpet sends little puffs of particles back into the air. So the air is not better with carpet; it's actually worse. All articles I can find on recommended carpet for allergy sufferers say to opt for synthetic carpet, like nylon, because synthetic carpet REPELS allergens. If the safest carpet for allergy sufferers is one that repels allergens & doesn't let them settle in the carpet fibers, then carpet that traps allergens & gives them a good environment to thrive is not good at all.
Wonderful team effort, love that they kept the good materials instead of ripping everything out and crashing things into a dumpster. A much better reuse of things and good message compared to other “renovation” shows. Bravo!
I missed this. So glad to see more videos from you guys! The house looks phenomenal and really suitable for selling, and the old couple really deserves it.
What a story! Loved the tips and tricks, and they're great for ideas for updating a home you live in too. And on a budget. Great work team! Love your work x
I loved this particular makeover, not only did the house turned out completely different from what it was , but it looked updated and had the look and comfort of a new home- with character. I would like to know how did it turn out with the bathroom, the designs were wild but I liked the fact that it was left as is, the new owner can always remodel that. Best of luck to such a lovely couple, it touched my heart when the lady said "everything is beautiful, ready for new people!" What you did here was amazing, not only a transformation but a labor of love.
Hey guys awesome, please upload more videos, I am big fan of you all.keep it up guys. I hope one day I can decorate my house by your hands. Love from India
My house came with tons of the same wire fencing in your video. Now I know what to do with it and my yard desperately needs a nice updating like that. Thanks.
oh wow this was a great makeover clip. the sellers were so sweet their children helped. everything looked so fabulous. kitchen looked farm chic. i love that the hosts actually did labor and maintained their feminine look. i like how your auctions work when selling a home. here in the U.S. we have to exchange countless bk n fourth phone calls. the new homeowners are fortunate to get this lovely home. great job. Much luv from U.S.A.
Please list the cost of materials and what the average cost of labor would have been so I can understand what the real costs are associated with a makeover like this.
The split cooktop/oven benchtops, and tile splashback in the kitchen give its age away as do the tiles in the bathroom. They were awful. Anyway it's the land that has the value not old house. Bet it will be demolished soon enough. 🤣🤣🙏
After so many years living in the house still no garden. Surely they could have at least had some shrubs and flowers. Not to mention the kitchen wall paper. My goodness.
I know this was 3 yrs ago but I have to say this was such a beautiful make over story. Your team did such an amazing job on the renovations. Any chance you would ever come to Canada, Ontario? ☺️
I find this ridiculous, when I buy a house I look at the size, how it was maintained, if systems and appliances were upgraded, condition and age of roof, plumbing system, heating system etc. I look at the condition of the house, not the furniture or belongings of the person. Dirt and messiness is a concern, just clean and organize, spend money on upgrading not on decorating.
everything about this program from the house owners to the team was just wonderful to watch. the end result was beautiful and everyone was so happy that it got such a good selling price. Bravo.
