Where are the measurements for the fabric. Some indications to be given as to length and width of fabric

this video is definitely nit sewing for dummies I am totally lost after the iron seam ..seems like some parts are skipped ie when and how were the two short pieces joined together ? I lost a whole day stitching and unstitching and am still at it but also searching for other videos that may be easier for me to follow

Apologize if it is not clear enough. I do my best to make the video is easy to follow. Thank you for suggestions. Regarding to sew the short piece together, you sew three sides of the short piece to one side of the long piece by aligning the seam allowance line. also would have preferred talking tutorial over the annoying music that I had to listen to over and over that just added to my irritation the written instructions also disappear too soon
