Great to see that you are passing on your sewing skills to your daughter. Lucky girl to have such a good teacher. She will thank you when she is older. When my daughter was 14 she wanted to make a prom dress. The Bernina gown of the year was having a competition among the High Schools, so she decided to enter her dress. While sewing it she would come to me and ask what I thought so far. I would point out a crooked line of sewing and suggest she unpick it and sew it straighter. She would grumble but did unpick it. One seam she had to unpick 5 times. At the 4th time she said she didn't care that it was crooked. I said, that's fine if you just want to wear it to the Prom, BUT, if you want to enter it in the competition she should unpick it again. She did and it was perfect. She WON the competition, beating out 17-year-old contestants. That daughter of mine is now 53 and she still has a beautiful pair of scissors that were engraved to mark the occasion by Bernina. The scissors were one of many items she won that day. Her best friend's older sister was getting married and asked my daughter to make her bridesmaids dresses to the exact design as my daughters prom dress. That was her first paid contract. She still thanks me to this day that I made her unpick that one seam 5 times.
Wow!! I'm 34 and have Never sewn! That's why I come here for a tutorial! I've got a 3 yr old daughter and I hope I can be good at sewing so I can teach her like how you taught your daughter
