If anyone makes and uses this, make sure to have a separate container to portion some out or you risk water getting in it and with no preservative, it will spoil.
@@moonagedaydream9426 no. store bought products you use in the shower have a preservative. Under no circumstance should you introduce ANY water into a product without a preservative.
@@moonagedaydream9426 actually scratch that, some products on the shelves if they don’t have water in the formulation, companies won’t add a preservative (some sugar scrubs). I think it’s irresponsible and I would never buy from one of those companies.
@@zooweellamaI personally find that preservatives aren’t great in skincare products since they can lead to damage even if it isn’t visible So i like it better as long as they tell you the shelf life
You don’t have to use a ton for a small jar of product. And with the leftovers you can make more. + most bodyscrubs you buy in the stores have little plastic beads in them to exfoliate which will not degrade and is hurting the environment. A glass jar and ingredients that actually degrade is a good idea tbh. Just costs time and money. . . (Nevermind I just realised it’s probably a plastic container.)

This is great, but I mostly use salt scrubs. I use sugar sometimes, but sugar manually exfoliates, while salt scrubs pull toxins from your body, and are a great anti-inflammatory. Also, I have really dry skin on my feet and knees and salt scrub gets rid of it immediately. One of my favs is from Origins. I also use their ginger scrub which is awesome and smells amazing!
I made a sugar scrub the other day & was thinking…I wonder if more finely ground Epsom salt would be more beneficial to my skin…I wonder 🧐 I’m sure it’s a thing, haven’t done any research yet..
As a dermatologist once said: If it's edible, it shouldn't go into your skin ✨ (if you are going to be harsh with you skin, at least do it with something that was made for that purpose)
Hard disagree. Your skin is an organ, AND it absorbs things- so you actually shouldn't use On your body anything you wouldn't put In your body/eat. Bc it Does get in your body thru your pores.
@@serenarodriguez9803 Forgive my ghetto upbringing, but in the world I come from folks work 2 jobs to barely make ends-meet. They don't have the time or the money to waste on a homemade scrub designed, not for skin absorption, but for skin exfoliation making the "healthy" option pretty much useless when a loofah & water will do the trick.
For all the ppl wondering she’s probably done this a lot of times you may not know what’s good for you yet like the tree hut save gel some ppl tree hut is not for them but if you do do this put a lot of body wash in it bc the sand will make your legs dry even if it have all the other stuff in it
I'll make a dry mix using Brown Sugar, Coffee Powder and Virgin Coconut oil. Just make sure all the equipment you use are completely dry. The Mixing Bowl, Spatula, Storage Container Etc... Store it in an airtight container. Then transfer some from it to a bowl using a spoon whenever you need it, Mix it with your favourite body wash. This way my stock remains untouched and can be stored for a long period.
I would argue that this is more of a floral gourmand scrub due to the floral scented oils used. I bet it smells amazing, but tropical makes me think of the scent of pineapple or mango or something.
Exfoliating gloves are better in my opinion, not only you get rid off of the dead skin cells EFFECTIVELY, but it also cheaper as you can keep it longer and clean it with a drop of bleach once per week to get rid off of the bacteria and and you can use it 2 times per week instead of exfoliating everyday with sugar scrub . Use exfoliating gloves for effective cleansing Use sugar scrub for aesthetic✨😂
I tried this but I was to scared to add the essential oil because I thought it would be toxic towards the skin 😅 I love it so much it looks so great 💓💚
if anyone ends up making any king of sugar scrub, make sure you rinse it off the sides of your shower (if you get any on the floor and walls) because the ants will come and swarm your shower.
All thsi is really healthy and you can actually eat it lol as long as it is brown sugar or coconut sugar it makes it healthier and if you dont add body wash you can eat it lol
PLEASE: Do not use oil that sets solid in sugar scrubs. This coconut oil will absolutely clog your plumbing. This looks great, props to OP, but please please please, use a liquid fat like olive oil, almond oil, avacado oil, etc.
