So many brilliant ideas in this video (pun intended)! I literally never knew that you could cut glass by using the method you used. I also like how you improvised so many of the other parts. I don't have bicycle wheels that I don't need on a bike but I may improvise by either recycling other bits of wire or by using some wire I already have around, perhaps even string would work since the flame from the candle wouldn't directly impinge on it. I also might use pieces of old beer cans (as I have many such cans) to wind them tightly into a wire. As it is, I made a lantern out of just a single old beer can but it did not have a handle on it. In any case, thanks for all the great ideas! I subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos!

I'm glad you liked it and thanks for subscribing, if you built yours i would love to see it. A good place to get the spokes is at a bike repair shop (they often throw away damaged wheels).

I would just like to mention to you that heat causes carbon dioxide to rise, but fire consumes oxygen from lower levels. So consider that if you make any more lanterns or, stoves, or ovens.

I like the idea.. Just simple and very easy, but cutting the iron wire is little bit hard for me.. I will try anyway to make it and I will use it for my next camping.. Thank you for sharing sir 🙏

I'm glad you like the idea 🙂 You can also saw off the wire or use a Dremel with a cutting disc.

A set of 9 inch lineman's pliers will cut bike spokes with ease. You can find them almost anywhere pretty cheap. They are worth having around. Very useful tool.

Thumbs up X10 man. This was the first of your videos I have seen. A quick look at your channel and I am hooked. Will subscribe after posting this comment. Our favorite projects are DIY that may be accomplished with our young troop. Your design is budget-friendly. There is a virtually endless supply of "spare parts" lying around to repair the project or build additional units. Watching from my "secret retirement location" in Bulacan province on Luzon island in the Republic of the Philippine islands.

My jaw is on the floor. Ive made alcohol stoves, latrine shovels and a plethora of other gizmos. This man rambles in the trash can and makes something that is 20 us dollars or more. Why didn't i think of this?
