Ну ладно бы кондуктор для заточки свёрел. Мало кто умеет свёрла точить правильно... Но кондуктор для заточки сварочного электрода.... замутил бы уже револьверный станок с ЧПУ. Вставил, программу написал и достал в конце готовое.

What I usually do (and its way tooooo often), break off the fouled end and start fresh. Put the shit end of the electrode in the vice and snap it off.

The Metalist have you tried different grits? What grit did you use?

@@TheMetalist that tends to be the proper way too. Much quicker sharpening a fresh blank end rather than grinding away a blob

You can get 150 grit diamond wheel for around 45dollars

You are boring. Of course it can be done the way you describe however it is way more fun the way The Metalist has gone.

Pff, i use an angle grinder with whatever wheel i'm using at the moment and turn the tungsten by hand. #prowelderskills :p

On some code work the tungsten angle is specified so it’s nice to have an easy and accurate way to replicate

@@gnarlock3927 Could you post the code you're referencing? I certainly haven't done it all but it would be something I'd like to be able to reference so I can research the intent. I started as a 56 coded (US Navy nuclear) welder in '93 and have worked in quite a few different roles, on probably a hundred different types of projects as a welder, and have never seen the tungsten angle specified in any weld procedure.

Ты хоть понял что это за девайс? Это очень годная штука, для тех кто много сваривается тиг сваркой. Это заточка для вольфрамовых электродов, с 3мя разными углами заточки, для сварки в разный режимах и разных металлов. Тебя к доктору надо, а то ему скучно небось) он тебе х..няметр на голову направит и всем все станет понятно)))

Thank you 😁 The small one 25mm is a roll-on (Suhner) disc or from Pferd called combidisc. And the 50,4mm one is a roloc disc.

I had similar idea, but maybe it wouldnt be solid enough.

@@janbernad4729 why? A threaded stud in the body and a bow shaped slot i that wing thing, which should be only slightly bigger. Then a wing nut with washer under it to hold in place. And you don't have to fetch a screw driver every time you want to grind different angles. I would also drill a hole on the other side for 0 angle, bigger enough to accept dipped tungsten - it happens, right? Even to the bests of the bests ;) so the bottom of the oversized hole would be flush o even one thousand lower than the surface of the grinding disc, and the hole would be big enough to take a rod with an unfortunate blob of filler hitchhiker. How about that

@@bernardfigiel198 I dont know, not sure how great the forces are, whether there are some vibrations that could loosen everything up etc. Your idea with another hole looks good though.

@@janbernad4729 same forces (tiny - you never push it hard and overheat causing oxidation), same diameter for a stud, same nut, but the other way round - technically it makes no difference.
