This is just what I've been looking for. The past two Christmases I've been looking for a pretty Christmas picture to go on our living room wall to replace our everyday one during the Christmas season and they cost sooo much. I can't wait to do this project. Thank you, thank you.

I use to do something that somewhat looked like this.. I used Christmas boxes.. I would buy a pack that had several sizes n pictures n I stapled the bottom of the box to my wall a then just put the lid on it.. People were so impressed with that.. I haven't done it in a long time but maybe I'll try this with my crate of bags that I have collected.. Great idea!!

I have done something similar for several years. I take gift bags and cut one side out and put it in inexpensive frames. Then u have another side to share with friends or family. This is a really cute idea. Thanks for sharing this idea.

This is brilliant! I have seen so many gorgeous gift bags - even at the Dollar Tree! I can also see how these could make fun decorations for showers, birthdays, etc. - using foam core board instead of canvases to keep the cost down. : ) Thanks for such a great idea! : )

Fabulous idea, tfs!!! I have to agree that gift bags have come a long way with the designs and graphics, some are just super cute! You could do the same with the different sized designed gift boxes. My mom was a fan of using those.

I bought a calendar with the idea of mounting them on canvas like this. The pages are thicker than a regular calendar and kind of textured, so I've been putting off doing it because I was afraid mod podge wouldn't work. And you showed I was right. Whew! Now I know how to get those pages out of the calendar and on my dining room walls. Thx so much!

I love these I made some last year i paint the canvas black because it had black on the bag than I used some decorative tape to make a border it turn out gorgeous it's a really good ideia good job you did

I love these! I don't see how you can use both sides of the bag, though, as one side is always folded and will have a noticeable crease. However, you can get gorgeous gift bags at the dollar store, so even only the one side is very cost effective.

I bought a set of gorgeous gift bags from Costco years ago that I can't seem to get through (it contained a ton and I don't know that many people I suppose, lol), so guess what I am going to be doing with some of them this year?!

GREAT IDEA, but I really dont like how the fabric bunches up on the corners... do you think it would look ok if the two canvases were glued or nailed together then painted a black color (either matte or gloss) to get a smoother look on the corners would work?

I think I found the tape on Craft Cameleon (sp)?? I'm sure you can hang those canvas frames with straight pins so the holes in the wall aren't noticeable when & if you take then down.
