Sure, not all projects are suited to be made out of dyneema - I guess it boils down to the intended use. If abrasion resistance is the primary concern, like for instance in an everyday wallet - I too would look elsewhere. Perhaps something in the Cordura family, known for being highly durable. I made this particular wallet to sit in my backpack and hold my car keys, credit card etc. when I go out hiking in the mountains. Dyneema is a popular choice for outdoor gear because of its strength-to-weight ratio, not to mention its ability to repel water. One would hope that the hybrid dyneema versions with the nylon face at least adds some abrasion resistance. I’ll report back when it wears out.
