As a Load and Stress Test Engineer, I hereby proclaim the Graetz Test (an easy to remember test name) where a cinema camera is stress tested by ejecting it from a vehicle travelling at 60 km/h while operating in a fully rigged configuration. Great to see that the test passed, and can't wait to see the next episode and the music video.
Can we just have a moment for this man and his team for thinking outside of the box? We all say it, but how many of us really live and work outside of our comfort zones?
Personally for any shot where we see the car itself and the camera is mounted to the car.....I actually like some vibration. I think gimbals in this situation look weird. I might actually be doing a video to demonstrate this...
you should. ! just recently had to rent many accesories to make a vehicle rig and ended up now wanting to buy it! videos from you guys would be totally awesome
Another thoroughly entertaining and informative video ! I can't wait to try to replicate your setup for an upcoming CM video. I would definately add, that if you did this again I would recommend some safety straps (not sure I saw any, but you might of had them) just in case the suction cups loose suction, I would add some additional triangulation to the track itself somehow......
Good tips man. You prob can’t see it in the quick shots in that edit, but we did have safety straps using your trick of the kayak straps for tie-down points. And each of the 10” suction cups had an additional 6” suction cup with a C-stand arm attached to a baby pin screwed into the right angle bracket.
Aye so you know RU-vid is suggesting you! Your about to pick up some serious steam my man I love your videos You've got some high end production quality!
I love how you guys didnt use any clickbait title like „*we crashed our Komodo!?* 😱 “. I literally didnt see it coming and was shocked and somehow intriguingly entertained and the end thankful most of the equipment survived. I mean at the end it´s as you said: Its ment to be a crashcam. So I think it literally passed that test! Really thankful for the insights you are sharing. Thanks for the efforts and the time you have put into this. Really stoked about the final results! Ah, what about including the crash-take into the next upload at the end of the video or something?
Thanks man. Yeah getting RU-vid content visible without being clickbaity is a challenge but so far people seem to be liking the content so we’ll avoid that disingenuous crap as much as possible. I can’t release shots from the music video until it’s released (hopefully next week). After that I’m gonna do some detailed breakdowns on the shots we got.
Oh! I did not put it together that obviously you’re not driving in America! For a moment there I was freaking out about you attempting to control this camera while driving, then I noticed the lack of steering in from of you and it clicked lol.
Thanks David. Yeah if it had my time again I’d prob go for a Killshock - maybe with one of their new battery powered suction cups. Not cheap but like with anything you get what you pay for.
Cheers man. I’m based in Brisbane. You picked it tho - that’s Molendinar. My mate Mick Smith who runs Mick’s Gripping was helping us out with some gear so we did the tests down there that day.
@@graetzmedia Definitely meant this comment as an appreciation of your humor. Really enjoy the content you're sharing and the realistic presentation of troubleshooting new set ups. Keep it up!
Looking forward to the upgraded tow hitch video. Also, I had some questions about your experience here and tried to reach out to you through your company website, but perhaps that wasn't the best way? Is there a better way besides the comment section to ask more questions about your car mounting experience? Thanks.
Hey mate - sorry if I missed the message from the site. I’ve been on a big corporate job that just finished. Facebook.com/graetzmedia is a good spot for more involved discussions.
