I love how informative your videos are. Could you do a video showing how to cut a large image in half for a tshirt? I want to make the images on shirts larger than the 8.5 x 11 sheets.

Great video!! Is it safe to sew over your pins? I've always been scared to break my needle. Thank you :)
@Zhannastar
@Zhannastar 4 года назад
I do it all the time, lol I haven't broken a needle like that haha. (needles need to be horizontal on the fabric, if vertical, than don't sew over it) its always good to have extra needles at home just incase, you don't want to be stopped in the middle of your project haha. Also sewing machine is ok with the sewing pins, but a serger - that will mess up the whole machine so don't sew over pins on the serger.

@@Zhannastar oh wow! I’d love to learn how to do these for my baby girl! They’re so beautiful and simple! Maybe I’ll be brave and purchase a sewing machine. I have no idea , any recommendations on a machine for beginners to do bows like these?

@@Zhannastar hi ! I came back to tell you I bought my first ever sewing machine and have wanted to learn from your tutorials. I made my first stitch yesterday and even practice out a bummie !! I’m doing these next but for the life of me I can NOT get the velvet bow even at all. I have tried and tried and your tutorial is so helpful but I just can’t get them even. Any other tips?
@Zhannastar
@Zhannastar 3 года назад
@@Youalwaysmatter have you tried making these bows using cotton/linen blend fabric? or poplin cotton? (non stretchy thin fabrics) I would start working with those - same concept on how to make them - velvet is a little bit tricky to work with, I was even having a hard time tying them - takes me a few reties. if one side seems to be bigger, kind of mark that in your head which side turns out bigger, and when you make the loops - loop that one shorter so than it will come out even. I hope that makes sense. and congrats on getting a new sewing machine! they are awesome! I suggest getting a serger next, best thing to use on bummies, so fast and easy youre gonna love it hah

What do you flip your bows with? I need that magical tool
@Zhannastar
@Zhannastar 3 года назад
its a "cricut scoring stylus" haha - its just something that I use to flip all my bow fabrics. but theres actual tools that are specifically designed for this, - its called a "loop turner" or "tube turner" but I think those are used if the ends are not sewn together.

no I dont sew it. Once bow is tied it disappears in the knot (:

what size clips do you use? when i add the alligator clips to the vevlet, even the cotton fabric the clip stays open a little. Mine are just about 2" .. should i use bigger clips? thanks
@Zhannastar
@Zhannastar 3 года назад
for bulky bows I use 3" clips. I use these ones amzn.to/39lF0Pc
@Zhannastar
@Zhannastar 3 года назад
also I sold hundreds of bows using these clips, haven't had a complaint yet. so they seem to work really good on grabbing hair than.

@Zhannastar
@Zhannastar 4 года назад
this exact one look for "stretch velvet" on fabric wholesaledirect.com - its good fabric BUT its kind of hard to sew with because it rolls. I tried to make kid bell pants out of it but it was such a pain in the butt, so I would look for better option honestly.
