We had a epic week away with my family & had my cousins from the US visit us here in South Africa for my brothers wedding! We got back to the boat and it was time to install our engine gauges & connect up our engine controls. Next step was to get starting on our exhaust system but the weekend rolled around and it was time for the Rugby World Cup which the Bokke (South Africa) won. It was an insane celebration because it's exactly what our country needed.
What's left on our list you may ask??
1. Water-maker Installation

Nice to have all Vetus components so everything fits first time! Must also be great to be working will all new stuff rather than the usual old parts most of us have to deal with. Your guys defiantly deserved to win the rugby , great result . I guess GB peaked too early beating the All blacks the week before. Thats why we have a match because its the result on the day that matters! Cheers Warren

It really is nice after having to modify everything to fit the Isuzu this was a real nice change. Think England got a little to cocky thinking they would beat us cause new zealand did but they didn't realize how badly we needed and wanted to win ☺

Looking forward to seeing the engines started up! Make sure that Rickey doesn't try to make himself a unic again...a slip with that razor could have been painfully ugly. Don't hide the manual! It's better to use it and do it right the first time. Hang onto any manuals that you have so that it'll make servicing easier later on. You can always make PDFs of the paper manuals if you'd prefer not to have a lot of paper on the boat. You're so close to the finish line, I bet you can feel the salt spray on your faces already! (Especially with that high tide...how much higher than usual was it?)

Awesome episode, what's great about building your engine room from scratch, you can set it up how you want, makes maintenance a breeze. Bokke just passed through Slummies.

Guys great job just one concern. Don't wait to put the oil in NOW it's too important and to easy to be lost in the moment, you don't want to start a new engine with no oil. Go the Bokke if the aussies don't win I back anyone who plays the Poms

After you drilled the through-hull holes for the exhaust ports what did you do after and before you inserted the sleeves? Did you do any sealing?

Don't mention the RWC, you got lucky :) Seriously , get your engines in and get out of there while you can. Only question, my 10 yr old Alfa Romeo runs fly by wire throttle , why are you using throttle cables ?

You guys got bigger ìnverters on the engine if you want to charge your batteries or run the water maker? Also any soundprufing going in the engine bay?

Heya Ryan , we have 80 Ah altornators that we will hook up to a buckboost for balanced lithium charging . Yes we got some good sound insulation that we will be installing soon , but we first want to run the engines so we can compare before and after sound insulation 😉
