Supplies:
Nail polish
Warm water
Ceramic mug
Tips:
Dip object in the water immediately after adding nail polish because some nail polishes dry very quickly on top of the water
Use nail polish remover to erase any mistakes
If you don’t like the way your design turns out you can quickly rinse it under warm water and it will rinse off.
Do not put mugs in the dishwasher, hand washing will preserve the design much longer
Some nail polishes work better than others. I had great luck with Essie and OPI

I'd recommend that you put on a layer of clear acrylic spray paint over these to stop them chipping when you wash them.

That's so pretty. I'd be super careful with the candle. Nail polish is highly flammable. If you had a spark the whole candle could ignite.

These were so easy, I made mugs with my daughter and her husband and then I sprayed wooden boxes white and did a volunteer craft project at our local nursing home. The ladies loved them and put their belongings in the boxes right away. Thanks for the great idea!

I know how to make stickers like this 🛑take a bowl of warm water 🛑 pour in nail-polish of any colour (you can take as many colours as you want, put one after another) 🛑 OPTIONALLY use a toothpick to create designs 🛑 let your sticker dry out completely (in the water it dries) 🛑 drain the water when dried and stick it wherever you want it and it’s done ✅

Love the idea. I personally did sharpie and hand painted mugs for teacher gifts last year and filled with chocolate and they were a hit but for the ones I made I oven fired them at 350 for 30 minutes. Could you do the same with these to ensure the paint doesn't come off? Any thoughts? How do they handle when washed. Thank you!

you can also use the brush and let it drip and do one drip each color and make it look even cooler....for example: if you have red,blue,purple, and green you can drip one drop of red then one drop of blue then so one and so forth and you can use the tooth pick to "draw" a design into it.

You can use spray paint and hot water outside, too. And you could make a water marble gold.

Buy some glue sealant spray or something like that, spray a few layers (or how ever many is required) and let it dry. It's nail polish anyways so it should stay on for a while.

I did this earlier with a blue polish, and it turned out gorgeous!! Edit: I recommend not drinking from it, because even though it has dried, nail polish is full of chemicals.

nail polish is flammable so if you do a candle don't light it or burn it unless you want your house to burn down so remember don't burn it.

it's so beautiful!! the only one that worries me though are the toxic chemicals contained in nail polishes 😞 DBP, Formaldehyde and Toluene, which are to be avoided especially in pregnancy. I only found out about it recently and now I only use safe brands.

+Mary J there are brand that doesn't use those toxic products. Zoya, piggy plant, honey bee gardens, priti, acquarella, rgb, suncoat...there are ton.
