DIY Wire Topiaries for Houseplants! ❤️🌿 // Garden Answer 

That is so adorable! 💜💜 This is off topic, but I had to let you know you saved me this weekend. I'm a Personal Gardener for private clients and my client asked me to go to the grocery store and get some flowers to make a bouquet for his kitchen table. I must have looked like a deer in headlights. Not my comfort zone at all. I specialize in outdoor containers. I literally broke out in a cold sweat. On the way to the store, you popped in my head. Ok, what would Laura do? So, I just recalled all the bouquets I've seen you make all these years. And believe it or not, it came out amazing. He requested purple and white and everything was red and white for valentine's day, but I found 1 bunch of purple roses and several other bundles and spent 30 minutes putting it together. So thank you for the major save, and thank you for inspiring me when I had to get out of my comfort zone!! 💜💜💜

Woooowwww, these would make great inexpensive gifts for a new mom, promotion, birthday gift, the list is endless. I am definitely making the big heart one for my mom on Mother’s Day. She has tons of windows in her apartment and she LOVES plants. Iam going to also make one for my nieces baptism. I just LOVE this channel. Laura you and your husband are amazing.

I searched how to make a heart topiary to make a special gift for a coworker that is leaving and I was so happy to find a how to video on Garden Answer. I used to use clothes hangers and they all turned out beautiful for years to enjoy under the porch.

I'm planting up some pots for a friend who hasn't had success with house plants. Her granddaughters name is Ivy so "Glacier" ivy was my pick for her. I found some nifty spirals of vines cut off a small tree that was getting wrapped to death. It gives a more abstract effect but I think it will look nifty with little care. Gonna try to find that twine though, I like the look.

One thing I look for at thrift stores that I use as planters, are soup tureen's. I like ones on pedestal personally. People don't use them Much anymore so they are easy to find and relatively cheap. If you have a diamond bit you could even drill a hole for drainage and place on a lovely thrifted plate.

Love this idea. My mom used to grow ivy in a pot and she used something she called a peat post which she trained her plant around. Ha, she didn't train it. She wrapped it around the post. I have tried to locate those online but haven't seen anything like what she used. This gives me some inspiration.

What a WONDERFUL idea!! I love when I see these sorts of things at the store, but I never want to pay the price and I like to do my own with plants. Then try to find the topiaries and like you said, hard to find, then.... I don't want to pay the price for them, either. I've tried doing coat hangers and didn't like it. Next time at the store, I'm going to pick up some of that wire jute twine and then I'll have it on hand. And when I see a good ivy I like or something along those lines, I'm going to grab it and I'll be ready to go! Thanks so much for this.

I just repotted some vining Hoya on a sort of meh topiary. I love this idea of the jute covered wire, I might even redo my project with this method. Also, I can see some pink primrose tucked in these. So cute!

kind of random but have you considered a magnolia tree as one of the new trees you plant? My grandmother has had a beautiful saucer magnolia in zone 6 for years. It is absolutely filled with large flowers each spring. The outside of the flowers are deep pink at the center to pale pink/white at the tips and it has really smooth, gray bark and large, dark green, leathery leaves. It just seemed like something you'd like! Love your channel!

So cute!! Love the idea of using the wired jute twine to make the form. I could though REALLY stand to have more information on is how to keep ivy growing. In the past, I just tend to kill it eventually or it never grows much. Bought three little cypress trees this winter. Two I planted in terra cotta pots and the other one I left in its nursery container. Guess which is still living? The one in the nursery pot. Some things I just can NOT figure out.

I love this idea, Laura! I'm definitely going to try this project with the jute wire. I have done something similar before with thick wire and a philodendron plant. I ended up inserting some garden landscape fabric staples around the metal frame to help keep the frame upright in the pot (philodendrons can get heavy!) and that has really helped provide a sturdy frame for my plant to grow on.

I just purchased a 18” sphere ivy topiary {wholesale) at the SF flower mart for $38(plastic pot) Now I’m going to make my own♥️

Excellent project. I often make my own topiary forms to save money so these will be great. Just have to find the rolls of twine wire here in the uk now!
