This is so timely. I just thrifted 10 cigar boxes. They all STINK, even after leaving them out in the sun for several days. I removed all of the paper linings and applied a coat of Dixie Belle Bonding Boss to the inside and outside. Hopefully, it will prevent bleed through and block the cigar odor. I can't wait to get started on some of them. I love how you attached the handle. The IOD Kindest Regards stamp is still available in several ETSY shops. It is one of my favorite stamps too.

The Lane cedar boxes were given to high school graduates in the 1950's and 1960's by local furniture stores. We stored all of our high school graduation memorabilia in them. They were replicas of full-sized "hope chests" or cedar chests. I still have my Mom's and mine. Thought you would like to know.

I got tons of cigar boxes to make over and wooden trays ... I've already done a few of each, but this gave me some brilliant ideas ❤❤❤ they are ALL STUNNING!! I'm planning to make several cigar box purses as well 😊 just FYI, you can use Elmer's glue to decopauge but it isn't archival, so it will eventually yellow over time...

I live in Houston and found a cigar shop that gives away boxes... I have about 20 boxes to make over...i like using them for photo boxes and each of my girls have one for handkerchiefs from me their grandmother's and great grandmother's..i also make ring boxes with small one

Its funny how as crafters some things just dont float our boat and someone else will just go gaga over it,lol. Ive had things Im going to toss and someone will see it and love it…so I usually just give it to them😂

The sheep box is great, someone will love it. I did a glass and resin dragon fly not to long ago and I hated it. Not one part of that thing went well. A lady at a show fell in love and bought it. Ugh. I would have given it to her but she insisted on giving me a little something for it. I love redoing little boxes. Thanks for the inspiration. Happy Week.

I had a huge collection of cigar boxes back in the late 60’s early 70’s. I sure wish I had some of them now.

Thanks for this video. I love what you did with these boxes! I love the lamb box that you didn't like; my favorite is the last one with the fairy. Do you have any advice for removing crumbling paper from old cigar boxes? Sanding? (Ugh.). Love all you do. xx

It's not a flop, just paint over the Christmas green with a softer green. ❤

When I get an obvious bubble or wrinkle in the paper I have used a straight pin. I poke a small hole in the bubble in it & then when I brush over it the bubble disappears. Do that while the paper is still wet.

Looks good but use shellac spray. Cheaper and fool proof on bleed through

I like Dixie Bell paint but I use chalk couture transfers...
