by the way, if anyone is wondering why she's recording with a sock over her phone, it's because when recording on your phone, the phone picks up on backgroung noise which makes for distractions throughout the video. When you put a sock on top, it cancels out the background noise so that you can only hear her voice, which makes it much cleaner and much less distracting

ive never seen anyone put a sock over their mic on their phone before and honestly that's probably the coolest thing ive ever seen

For the first black shirt, I'd instead recommend, after doing the two straight stitches and gathering them, pinning in place and then doing a straight stitch over the gathered bit it's waaay easier and you won't have to worry about it coming apart!

Love your aesthetic and I too feel guilty when i alter a vintage item but if it works then it gets more use ✨ It would be ace if you could show the “after reveal” straight after showing the alterations so we can understand how it all came together. Digging your channel and cant wait to watch more diy, craft, art content from you.

Love this video! :) So fun and creative. If you're interested in doing more gathering like the black top you might find it easier to do a longer stitch length to gather the fabric and then go over the gathered area with a regular stitch and back stitch at the start and the beginning. After that you can pull out the longer stitch and it should stay in place better and you won't have to hand stitch the ends of the thread. For the wrap dress if you're confident and working with something on someone curvy I would recommend making little marks while the person is wearing it and cutting it while it's still on the person or on your dress form. This will make the dress hem more levelled since the sometimes cutting certain fabrics straight across can make the centre back lift up and/or the side seam pull up or down.

Love the colored pencil sacrilege. I often use different-colored pencils to mark fabrics just so I can hide the leftover marks better when I'm done.

For the black gathered top, to hold the gathers on, you could try to sew a "normal" stitch (I mean going back at the beginning and the end to hold it on) between (or above so it can be less visible) your gather stitches.

These are all super cute!! For the black top that has the gathering at the front. if you want to you could sew elastic on the inside so it stays gathered but is relying on the tension of the elastic not the threads :)

I love love love love love how the black and the gray shirts (that were originally the same) turned out! And the white shirt was so pretty, I loved how you could reverse the direction on some of them. Your creativity is amazing !!

For the black top, you could also have used small bits of black elastic and stiching it onto that to strengthen the string! Like use the string method, but then add the elastic so you don't have to worry about the string breaking.

If you put a little more space in-between your two gathering strands, once you get the to the gather you want, you can straight stich down the middle instead of just tying it off. That might make it more secure.

If you sow a straight stitch in the middle of the gathered part on the black shirt tension will be lifted from the other seams and the threads shouldn’t snap. You can also remove the seams on the sides since the middle seam will hold the fabric together

Those stitches are mostly what all seamstresses need to know. My brother was a taylor and seriouslya really great one. You're golden.

A tip to like rouche the top like you did in 4:00, you only have to pull *one* of the threads, this way the threads won't rip while you pull them and when you try it on ^^
