Am 43 yrs old . This is how I fought in the 80s & some 90s.. No guns , knifes or bats.. breakdance moves! When u lost , it was respect no matter what we had for each other. I miss these times so much!
I'm 49 and I want all you 50+ers' to remember that it was your hard work and inspiration that paved the way for these future generations that continue the tradition of today had it not been for your inspiration!!
I'm 51. I was one of the top break dancers on Staten Island in the 80s. Linoleum and Armour All is how we rolled. These guys absolutely put me to shame I must admit. Their moves are extraordinary and works of a professional gymnast. Planet Rock was the #1 break dance jam hands down. Wish I could re-live those days again with my childhood and teenage friends. Kids now will never experience the connections we all had with each other. Glad I lived to experience those times.
No bro they dont put you to shame because if it was not for you they would not be doing what they do. There moves come from you and the other brothers out of New York. You are the originator you did not use gymnastics or anything else it was raw talent and creativity!! You all took something from nothing and look where it is now!!
Someone/somehow have to set the philosophie alive ^,~ And that was the start of this work as we know it today. Evolution have a start, but no ending!! I only would be ashamed if these guys today didnt manage to bring evolution to it. then It would be dead already! :D
I'M 52 YEARS OLD, THIS PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE EVERY TIME!!!!! I CLOSE MY EYES, LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, IT MY ESCAPE FROM REALITY FOR A MOMENT!!!!I I WISH THOSE DAYS WERE BACK AGAIN!!!!!!
OHHHH.THESE TIMES WILL BE REMEMBERED THROUGH THE AGES...OLD SCHOOL AND THE CONNECTIONS WE HAD WITH EACH OTHER..GLAD I EXPERIENCED THE 1980'S AT IT'S FINEST, NO SOCIAL MEDIA OR CELL PHONES JUST FREESTYLE MUSIC AND A PIECE OF CARDBOARD ..SPINNING AND BREAKDANCING.
I remember when I was a kid growing up listening to old school music this on my radio. Plus I when I was a teenager I would enter a break dance battle in school. I love listening to old school music like this. Theses D.J.'s know how to put great music together back in the 80's. I rather listen to this music instead of other music.
Hey out there I'm 63 and love this music these guys are getting down but don't forget us us 70s boys we were good i was one of lockers but you guys are the best
I’m with ya AJ... Having my own house dance party during this pandemic 😘💃💃💃😜. I have always loved to dance... Will ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS DANCE any chance I get...
@@debbiedancemusic3764 I just subscribed to your channel. I like your playlists selections. They are similar to mine. I enjoy smooth jazz , country music and music from other countries as well. I love music and it's very universal. 👍😉
@@ajrockinshockin2893 - Omg- you just taught me something new 😍. I had no idea about subscribing to someone channel 🤷♀️. I thought it was for subscribers for “Stars” on here- lol... I also just recently started to get on UTube, even posting on here. Thank you for your kindness and great that we both appreciate music of many genres. I will subscribe to yours as well. Hopefully I get it right 😜. Blessings to you
@@raymondlin8728 l wish we can close our eyes and turn back the hands of time ,to a place where we were so carefree ,no s.m,no cellphones ! I miss the days ,the malls ,my parents ,we can't go back
Damn straight brotha! I'm 53 and like lots of us growing up in the mid 80's, this was the shit back in the day. Break dancing was in the early 80's. Remember movies like Breakin'? lol
@@Premo727thanks for the comment. I'm back. Need to re listen . Beat Steet music next. My daughter is gonna be annoyed. Lol 😆. Yes breaking in the 80s in the high school hallways, gym, windbreakers
I'm 59 and I grew up not far from where rap music originated, the foreparent of hip hop. Long before it was on radio it was creatively done at Block Parties with DJs competing with each other. I was astounded and almost in tears (okay, maybe I was) when I heard the first rap song on the radio as I was in college. I said, "Wow! The music from my hood Made it!" Everyone loved it and it took off from there! Thanks Youth all over the globe for carrying it on with song and dance!
My brother I’m 44 youngest of 7 still remember this like it was yesterday at home the youngest couldn’t say anything but listen to the music and breakdance with my brothers and sisters awesome time 👍
Man I turned 60 two months ago and these moves just blow me away the the music took it to a whole other level 🔥🔥🤯🔥🔥. Breakdancing to B-boy music nothing like it. Should be an Olympic event🍾👍👏👍🍾
Brilliantly stated words right there. LUH-OVE it So happy to see other epics exist - on the BEAT evertime it does not, will not ever get old YEP YEP! 🎶
Coming from Southwest Louisiana at 46 years old…when we weren’t wrestling alligators or boiling our mud bugs…we were definitely jamming and trying our best to dance to this. Although there were a few that could hang…most of us were just putting the jams in our trucks to listen to the music! Great times! Glad I saw this post!
I'm 29 years old so I can only speak on how these are my dad's jams and I have great memories of him playing these full blast out the speakers RIP dad I miss you so much
47 and missing those old school days carrying a boom box, tapes, card board and the gang just peeling it wherever we could, Hollywood-Sunset-Hollywood Bl, LA-Downtown Broadway, East LA, Olvera Street and anywhere people were cool watching us breaking out and making enough to catch a bite at our favorite eateries. Thank You JAMES for putting this together.
Missing my getto blaster. Only white girl on the west side. Especially that knew the DNS CONNECTION. AND HAD A GETTO BLASTER. GOOD TIMES WHERE SIMPLE 😉😅😉
I'm 52 and this took me back for awhile , remembering how good it was to grow up when this began, and witness first hand the warriors that showed their awesome talent to the world. I've loved this whole scene since 1980 up to writing this comment and everything in between .... With my cardboard out in the street, and my badass boombox. Blasting all the Tommy Boy greats, Sugar Hill, Whodini, etc, etc. Much love to all Hip Hop , B- Boys, artists and fans alike.
I was pretty good at breakdancing in the mid 80s, could jump straight into a flying windmill without using my head and go straight into over 40 headspins and bounce around on one hand, but these guys are in a whole different league to me. I'm 53 now, it's probably too late to learn those moves haha 🙂 Seriously though, how the heck do they do those moves? Their strength must be phenomenal! Oh, and the music is awesome too! Just wow!
This song helped define Break dancing for the masses outside of NEW YORK. What a time to be alive in the culture. I'd pay to go there and visit those great days in Hip-Hop! ✌️✊
I am 52 years old and i remember practicing all week long waiting till the weekend to bust my moves in the club people sweating and putting in work on the dance floor until someone just took over the dance floor and now its a free for all on the dance floor EVERYBODY'S MOVING NON STOP TILL ABOUT 7 IN THE AM! #Legendary
I was born and raised on the Upper west side of Manhattan still live her ..I know all the Original members of the Rock Steady Crew .. What a wonder memory of Growing up 🎉🎉🎉

Me to!!! Was the best times feeling and so into nothin but old school mixes and planet patrol. My God its on my bucket list to at least have a day of nothing but the circle of nothing but breakdance challenges. Crumping would be excellent as well
I miss those days. Wow. I'm 49 and still love hearing the old school hints. It also remind me of all the block parties that I use to have breakdance battles. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gotta Love it ❤ Blast from the past right here.....took mad skillz to do that....I remember growing up we would all meet up after school...they'd throw the cardboard down and it was on!!! Boom Boxes and Cassette Tapes... Good Times..... boy dance squads today aint got nothing on these boys !!!!
This song brings back soooo many memories of the love of my life. He did just like these guys and I loved watching every minute of it. It brings tears to my eyes. Absolutly amazing. Has followed me my whole life. Still to this day same feelings for him. I love you Joe Rico.
You brought me back to my youth! I'm 48 years old and man I feel like breakdancing again and other dances in between. But you didn't have to end it with art of noise! This is what we need in music today bring back the classics and show these young people this is What and where hip-hop come from. Educate the culture and they will follow!
So proud of the B Boys of today! Continuing and evolving B Boyism to the art it is today!😊😮. I remember Breaking, poppin' and lockin' when I was growing up in the 80s. What a beautiful great era to come of age! I was in a crew called The Dynamic Rock Force. So much fun and friendly competition. DRF! Keep the spirit and tradition of B Boyism alive, future generations!😊👍🏼✊🏼👍🏼🫡💯
it feels so wierd to know i used to get cardboard boxes to break when i was a teen at 49 yrs old now lmao...these guys are insane!..you have to be in top shape to do this stuff
Loved it, i remember vividly when i first busted my mills and kept it flyin... I had to check with someone else if it really was the windmill, because it didnt feel like it looked from just seeing it be done... Love the days...
So glad this younger Generation is still keeping this live and continually updating it.. it definitely was an amazing time in my life, so grateful I experience some extraordinary break dancers - Shout out To City Street Breakers off a 103rd st. Jacksonville, Florida and the Dancing group Kurrent Electricity- (Rip Crystal Richmond aka Radius C”, - Joe Braddaus bka: Atomic,
Age 54 from East New York. Practiced poppin' and breaking dancing for hours with our cardboard boxes, white gloves, Adidas Track suits, Pumas with fat laces and Kangos, with the Conion Boom box (with alarm). When we were done we were tagging on the A and C trains (RNS Crew). Now, I have a Ph.D. a wife and kids, and a mortgage. But just for one day, I'd love to be that kid again, care free, hitting rewind to Beat Box until the tape popped. I think in many ways, I still am. Thanks for this....
Just turned 51 and I grew up with this music on 92 WKTU New York. Where has the time gone? I try this now and I'll throw out a hip or break my neck. Hahaha Excellent video and mix.
51 years old in 2021 and this takes me back to 1986. 16 with my own car going to clubs and dancing to these songs being mixed on the fly a an actual DJ. Hanging with friends both make and female just loving the songs and moments we had. Still in 2021 I jam these songs out and younger coworkers wonder when the songs came out because they sound great

I am 54, grew up in Queens NYC. I remember the Dynamic Rockers from Queens Bridge that went to school with and other crews. I worked Roller Park on Queens Blvd / Lamour's East / Dancin .
I'm 68 and I was in them streets when this stuff was rocking. I was in Seoul in the 90's in Itaewon clubs hanging with K-Pop groups because my daughter danced in their videos.
