Ashba has written some really nice melodic guitar pieces that I enjoy playing every time I pick up the guitar. His stage performance is incredible and his playing improved a lot while touring with GNR.

Very Cool mashup of Sixx.am Solos. I love how Ashba creates music by experimenting with different playstyles we all probably tried when we were beginners. (Hammering on strings with the pick, that funny pickscraping) THIS is how music is made, by trying out something that sounds different.
D.j. Ashba has such amazing talent and plays from the heart and it comes through in his music. I am so hurt and disheartened by some of the cruel and hateful comments I have read about this. What amazes me is here is a man who has made himself an entire life of doing what he loves and is worth a lot of money. He must be talented or he wouldn't be/have been in top name bands. His passion and drive for perfection make him incredible and his love for people makes him that much better. Being successful in the business world only indicates someone has good commercial representatives working for him. Otherwise, we wouldn't see so many cases of mediocre singers selling millions of albums. On the other hand, being a good musician is entirely up to him and if he bets we can't play pick scraping wah noise, well...
This is by no means hard but I can still see myself trying out some of these tricks to impress the non-players a bit. We guitarists tend to forget that we don't have to only play for ourselves or to impress other guitarists. Cheers.

Funny when guitarist act like they didn't practice or develop a technique while learning to play something. I just play from the heart ya know? I have know idea what i'm playing ya know? lol give me a break
it's not that u didn't practice, but it's a combination of lots of different techniques that you forget them alone. but you put them in your solos because you have muscle memory that kind-of does it without thinking.

Can you please play the lick again without tons of effects and wah? If you actually want people to learn the lick then playing it clean is kind of essential.
