This isn't R&B. This is more so hip hop. R&B is Maxwell, DAngelo,Kem, Lewis, Jazmine Sullivan, etc. What we are listening to on this clip is REAL hip hop, and thats gone. Its been saturated into pop, more specifically the white artists like Justin timberlake and Bruno Mars (although he isnt white), Miley Cyrus, and Taylor Swift. Started back back in thr day with those boy bands and Brittney Spears and Christina Aguilera, and now its just too saturated for blacks to ha e authentic hip hop. Its just how it is now days. Very few whites listen to straight rock and roll anymore. Its all about hip hop
I just wanna cry because I'm currently part of today's generation of music and the music today is garbage. There's no talent and music is at a horrible place. My momma raised me on 90s and early 2000s music because that was her time period and seeing all these legends made me cry because it brought me back to my childhood and made me realize that music was so much better and happier back then than it is today. Seeing these legends are like seeing my Aunt's and Uncle's at a family Cookout that I haven't seen in years. I know I'm too young and that this generation of music occurred before I was even thought of, but I really love these legends and have so much respect for what they did and what they continue to do. They paved the way and they are the definition of artistry. I always tell people that I currently live in the wrong and worst generation of music. I wish I was born in the 70s in order to have experienced the magic of the 90s and early 2000s 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
It's okay sweetheart just be grateful your able to appreciate great music, I was blessed to be a 70s baby and I grew up on some the best music of the 80s 90s and very early 2000s and this felt so nostalgic blessed my spirit tremendously.
You drunk as fuck and need to expand your library if you think there's "no talent" today. All old people do this and it's annoying. Telling me Gallant, HER, Sza, Daniel Caesar, Lucky Date, Faiyaz, Masego, etc etc etc etc etc etc aren't just as good? Stop being that old person that refuses to like anything new and pretends your era was better just because of the memory you have attached. You're missing out on more brilliance. And note *everyone I mentioned is technically more talented that almost every artist that appeared in this Pass the Mic. Open up.
This was a 20 minute example of "BLACK DON'T CRACK". These brothers and sisters looked and sounded amazing! #Salute DJ Cassidy for giving us this musical journey!!
That Dru Hill performance almost took me out.. laying in bed got my ass up to dance in the dark and stepped on a dog toy almost broke my damn ankle..🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Shiiiit... Cassidy went for blood with this one. 💯💯 😩😩 Gina Thompson ??! Soul 4 Real ??! Adina Howard ?! Missy?! Dru Hill, Da Brat and JD?! and my boy Donell Jones too ?! Lord ... music will NEVER be this dope again. Thank u Lord for lettin me grow up during this time to experience this first hand ! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
You should do a 'Pass the Mic Tour' but what will make this tour different is that the audience won't know the line-up until they are there... Switch the line-up and mix it up each show... I'm telling you, it would be a smash hit! The mystery; the nostalgia and a stage of people with REAL TALENT, soul and their own unique sound will reign again!
I freaking 💜 Sisqo's crazy self. Who else would give you full blown choreography? I respect his hustle. He stay ready and auditioning for his next gig 👍
When I tell you this #PassTheMicOnBET segment after the NAACP Awards took me on a musical yearbook of my junior high/high school years❤❤❤❤❤ DJ Cassidy, God bless you😘 Ginuwine, Montell Jordan, NEXT, SWV, Brownstone (RIP Maxie), Sisqo & Dem, Mike & Slim of 112😂😂😂 All jokes aside, it was BEAUTIFUL😄
Soo...we just gonna ignore the fact that Sisqo literally flipped into the frame, on one hand, and then they proceeded to give us a full choreo w/the remix?? Ok, cool. 👍🏾#imissthistypeofmusic
That's right Cass, Come Thruuuu! Let these Youngins know about the ol' skool R&B fiiyah music from the early 90's. Woo-hooo it's on, Let's get it! 💖🕺🏽💃🏾🔥🎶😃 damn I'm getting old lol
I'm over 50 year old when I seen this on you tube I was so excited I had to stop the car pull over and start dancing Lol absolutely outstanding Brings back memories when able to really have FUN DJ Cassidy Keep Up The Great Work 👍🏽
I frickin love #DJCASSIDY and #PASSTHEMIC. 🔥🔥🔥 I would have ended it with an upbeat song and put #WYCLEF in the middle but that's why #CASSIDY is the DJ and I'm at *home* jammin. 🤭💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
I loved this. Especially Dru Hill, Da Brat, JD, & SWV. But this would’ve been even better without Wyclef lol he could’ve been on a mid to late 90’s Hip Hop Version of Pass The Mic. Would’ve been crazy to get Silk and Joe in that slot.
THANK YOU SIR CASSIDY 😘FOR ALL OF THE GROOVY JOURNEYS PLEASE ALWAYS SEND THE WORLD THE POSITIVE VIBES. & TO ALL THE ICONS KING & QUEENS OF R&B &SOUL MUSIC 🙏💜💛💙💚💎🌹
Excellent this is music when Artistes could really sing and did not need drum machines and manipulation of voices to assist them. Well done DJ Cassidy; listening during lockdown 3 in the UK.
Wow! This was such a treat!! Kudos to the person who came up with this beautiful idea. Everyone looks healthy and sound good. I pray that they are spiritually in a good place.
I can’t act like this didn’t make my day. Salute to DJ Cassidy and everyone who showed up and showed out. Everyone looked beautiful and handsome, we need more of this.
I love it! It's on repeat again today! I'm playing it on this Sunday afternoon before. I get busy later with stuff I have to do for today, along with preparing for things I need to do for tomorrow! party on! I listen to dj Cassidy and dj shinski all the time, two of the best DJs around! Makes me wanna do a little DJing myself when this pandemic is over and we get back to normal soon, but first I gotta make sure all is well on the home front with me and my family then continue partying now and in the not to distance future!! I just love it! It brightens my day!🥰🤗🎶🎵🎼🎇
Everyone needs a sisqo in their life. That motivation. The person that keeps the fire 🔥 when life gets tuff. That person encourages you to never forget why you started something good. I pray Everyone who reads this never loses the thrill of Life. God bless you all.
