DJ Contract Complicates Everything

They are not stuck with him at all, the team has an opt out after this year and he’s gone after the year.

I'm definitely not a DJ guy. But you can't blame the player for taking the bag. Gotta blame the team for agreeing to give it to him.

Contractually, it’s not horrible - he was paid lowest of market compared to other guys in the league. Everyone better, literally made more money than that. Also, the Giants designed a two year out so they can easily part ways with him after the 2nd year of this deal. What did they really lose besides a place holder at QB? They weren’t blessed with many options IMHO and they at worst will just take the L this year.

@@kevinburke6055 the formula in 22 was a two-headed running attack that worked bc both DJ and Saquon were extremely dangerous - then the run sets up the throw. When either one of them was hurt, the offense NEVER worked. Do you think adopting a new offensive philosophy will work when there’s no running game? Who’s the running back? Some non-explosive, non-factor? Will Nabors come in and be the difference first year? Probably not.
