I listened to Iron Maiden and I didn't fall for that. Jokes apart, this is THE mashup remix for me, the first I've listened to and I'm really glad I've found it in 2010. Thanks to this masterpiece I discovered the concept of mashups and since then I found talent and genius all over the internet.

Shane Ballance nope... I personally dislike the 2014 mashup. It's missing the dynamic that this mashup has. 2008 and 2009 saw releases of good songs but DJ Earworm nailed it in 2009. I would say that BEP's "I Gotta Feeling" makes a good background for the foundation of the mashup :)

I remember singing this with headphones on when I was in middle school after the day it came out and my classmates were confused of what song was I really singing 😅. Mash-ups wasn't a big thing back then so they didn't know. DJ Earworm blended the songs so good that every verse made sense, so my classmates thought it was just one song.

Almost 13 years later and I still know every word to this mashup!! The magic of every artist in 2009 fitting together so perfectly is something I think about often, this is the best year for the pure fact of how perfectly each song tells the complete story of how the music in 2009 brought us all together.

Just a year or two out of college. First time I ever had a couple extra dollars in my pocket. The same three bars every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On a boat all summer. Not the best days of my life, but certainly the most care free. Have never felt so invincible and this mix brings such an incredibly unique kind of serotonin other music has never given. While I’d never wish a speedy hour of life now with three young kids, this song does make me excited for them to share those same years I had. Reporting live from 2024, I’m out.

After listening to other mashups i realize how good this mashup is. I think the secret to its success is that there's an actual structure. There is a part that keeps coming back; a sort of chorus... the part where it goes "Blame it on the pop, blame it on the dance, blame it on the rock and roll". Most mashups lack this sort of structure. It's just such an amazing mashup, and nostalgia only makes it better each year!!

I remember listening to this song many years ago on my mom's computer. The problem is the audio file was untitled and only played until 2:22 so I never really got to finish it and ended up listening to an 'unfinished' song over and over again. Until now I found this video randomly and for the first time ever I get to listen to it until the very end. I can't stop smiling.

Story Time. My first son passed away in 2009. I couldn't listen to these songs for years. It brings tears to my eyes now, in a whole different way. In the moment, the pain was insurmountable. 12 years later, it's become a reminder of how far we can go, despite the despair. To find this song on a day like any other, reminds me that my son is sitting somewhere, smiling. I hope he's thankful his dad did something with his life, rather than sit in sorrow. Time is like a paycheck, the only difference is you don't know how much you were given until you've spent it all. Spend wisely friends.
