every time i listen to ez it instantly takes me back to my teenage years, rinsing his sets in the vauxhall nova blazing with the boys 🔥 smashed it then and still the garage don now 😎
So many amazing memories, Exposure, Twice as Nice, Garage Nation,Sidewinder, the list is endless. Feels like yesterday, still enjoying this at 50years young.
sound system probably not loud enough! Been to so many outdoor ones and the system has been a disappointment...51st state in Trent Park the exception...it's banging there
It's the new generations unfortunately who have no joy for music at all, nor appreciation for DJ's like EZ, Heartless etc. They became controlled by smartphones and a very insecure sense of self, which grew into this societal narcissism we know and are plagued with today. It also involves the availability of music, whereas years ago the only time you heard the latest bangers and mixing skills of Z were at clubs on a Friday or Saturday night, the weekend event was the place to be and everyone raved the f**k out. It started to go downhill around 2008 and then got steadily worse. Loads of people started seeing it happen and drifted out of the scene because events became stale and full of lifeless, clueless clubbers petrified of being photographed looking tardy and sweaty etc. It was also the making of the moody bstds who would go out just to breed trouble, start mass brawls, cause stabbings and shootings etc. In my day we never had hardly any of that nonsense and didn't care about leaving a club having sweat out a gallon of water and looking rough as fook. 99% of people would leave on their own two feet having had a wicked night and head straight for the local takeaways. In the 10 years I was a London clubber, I never once got into a fight and was never thrown out by a bouncer. It didn't matter whether it was garage or house either, or home or abroad, the only thing they responded to was when a new sound came in and then go back to just swaying like hippies on acid staring into their phones or taking selfies. Clubs had to start employing big laser shows, pyrotechnics and visual aids to try and coax some life out of them, but even that didn't work! If you look at this crowd, all they can do is whip their right arm into the air, jump up and down on the spot. That's what you see everywhere, no dancing, no raving, nothing. They were once described as those battery-powered dancing flower toys we had as kids. They only moved when a new sound was made, then went back to being still and lifeless. The only thing that brought these newbies any pleasure was dressing like Towie tarts for attention and getting absolutely paralytic. It didn't matter how much the MC's tried to get these crowds moving, they killed the scene completely. Which is why now you never see them anymore.
Those mixes!!! (just based on my favourites) 19:30 - TNT into Dexplicit 23:00 - Boo into Paris into Poundcake into Pow into Pulse X 37:00 - Saved Souls into Ripgroove 48:18 - Selecta to Champion
As much as I love EZ, i would love to see him do a connoisseur mix outside of the pure garage 2 step era. I remember when I used t listen to him on freak fm or when he 1st started on kiss & used to do EZs other side where he would play more house & U.S garage
@@bentanton599 Yes I agree with "plus Viper" the best set I heard was those 3 about 20 years ago. EZ used to tell them when to keep MCing when he cut out the music, then EZ would drop something heavy. He worked well with those two 👌
EZ just come back to the clubs man this crowd ain’t for us. Had a little run after boiler room but you know how it go for us, come back and pioneer some new records or bring someone through, and I don’t mean Cartier who just copies and paste your sets lol . much love always ❤️
I Ave been in ore... .. yes he does something I ain't felt before. However that was way back in day but everyone has there ting BUT HE LICKS it like No one else.... He is the GOVERNOR
In the UK Garage scene there was very few female MCs, i actually have no idea why not. As a genre it mainly came out from mid to late 90s onwards so the era might have had something to do with it
Im very new to this, but i recall a sister name mz dynamite or lady dynamite who seem to be making some noise. Did she not start a movement? Plus you had plenty of US female MC's. This didn't spark anything there?
@@StarvingMyselfToLIFE yeah there's Ms Dynamite and some others. For whatever reason though, at live shows and on the radio stations it's mainly tended to be male MCs though for this genre of music. But we do have female MCs in the UK
These djs aint thinking. Im calling it now. The first one to break out a dope female is going to blow up. The females are going to love that. And for that matter what's up with Kitty Amor? I never see her at venues like these. Maybe im not looking in the right place?
They was all associated with so solid crew, Dynamite, Lisa Mafia and the Twins as well. I suppose Alisha Dixon could be considered as a Garage MC as well!
back wen people went out to dance, to forget phones , socials and fake shit, now showing people u was at a rave, as a fkin cameraman tho not a raver . so dont get da phones out live in da moment ffs
