As a wedding DJ, I've been in your shoes bro. The best way to deal with a request from the bride/groom is to announce it on the mic so everybody knows the next song coming up is gonna be a change of pace/style. That way if the dancefloor clears out, the blame will be on them and not you, the DJ...

Had a party this past weekend, the couple didnt know anything about music, I mean NOTHING!! Talk about winging it🙄. The teenagers and lil kids helped me out alot, I sent a request list around and got back 4 pages but with all the hussle and bussle i wasnt able to play nearly a 1/4 of the songs let alone anything I had planned, by the time the cake cutting was done almost more than half the guest left we started out with 98 people. It took me 3 hrs to set my shit up, I took lights, my truss system, 4 speakers, a sub, everything but fog (the venue didnt allow). They said go hard or go home to me at signing the contract so I did😁, it was just disappointing all that work for pretty much nothing. I got compliments from numerous people even the kids lol but ugh wutta night😩....Great vids Terry, love the content, stay up my man✌️💯

Very informative video. So very true about clients requesting a specific song that would empty a dance floor when a crowd is already dancing and turned up... I believe they do this because everyone now a days call them self a DJ

I'm doing a birthday party this weekend and they asked for apple bottom jeans which is obvious low by flo rida. But what some people don't know is that there are several songs called apple bottom jeans so you have to make sure that they be more specific.

You are absolutely right about when to play the songs that they bride wants last thing you want is to lose your crowd that's already dancing.

I did a wedding last weekend, I've been doing them for about 2 years now, but I've been a dj since the 90's. Your videos have helped enormously. I used to approach weddings by just trying to please everybody, but I tried some of your techniques which are basically common sense, but usually what I use when doing clubs, and it has payed off hugely. I'm back to taking control of the floor instead of letting the client try and dictate the flow. I went back to quick mixes (when appropriate), and saying "not yet" when the request doesn't fit the flow etc... Last weekend I got waaay less requests, and an excellent review. Your videos have helped a great deal, even though I've looked at myself as a professional since the early 2000s. Thanks!

Bruh, keep the pole on the speaker stand low then raised after mounting the speaker. You're doing too much work in there, try to avoid an injury. Just an advice

Please make a video of explaining when you meet with your clients on what to ask? The order of the presentation? Party favorites do you included them in to your package deal or do you charge extra for them .
