Reminds me of my mum who passed away ages 51 April 2023. I’m 34 years old and remeber being brought up with this music aswel she used to go to bowlers and she listened to oldskool piano? zone, Maximes little bit of trance ALOT of happy hardcore! I remember seeing the bonkers vinyl albums coz she used to fuck around in the decks! Hixxy sharky dj sy and many more but this sticks out. Miss her so much. She showed me the best music ever ❤❤❤❤
It's 2023 now and I first heard this version of this song in 1997/1998. I come back and look for it about once a decade. This Hixxy version is the absolute best. I'm 38 and this stands the test of time.
This song is an absolute wonder of electronic music. The instrumental really makes the main singer's voice shine, especially when it comes to highs and extended vowels. It truly sounds beautiful and it deserves way more recognition. Also, : ^)

I was 63 yesterday, lived through the finest musical decades, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Thanks to John Peel I started to get into house and trance in the mid 90's and on new years eve1999 I went to meet a mate of mine to get some acid.. He couldn't get any but asked me if I'd be interested in a pill instead. After Old Lang Syne I was walking home and happened to be walking past a nightclub and could hear the beat through the walls so I went inside. It was the start of 3 years of pills and being the first on the dance floor and the last off and this amazing track was part of that journey. To say I feel privileged is an understatement...

I’ve just worked a dance festival and got Karen parry up and ready to perform this on stage, I met DJ hixxy too. Perks of being a stage manager! There are definitely festivals like this out there, I was in the clubland classics tent 😂
This is vintage happy hardcore. Keep in mind this song came out in May of 1997, a couple months before Auto-tune arrived. Talk about being ahead of its time for its genre.
Matthew Fox Happy hardcore (this track) didn't form until the mid-nineties as you'll know. So you wouldn't have heard a vocal 180bpm record such as this at that time as it wasn't around.

You either got the vibe from this music or you didn't back in the era. If you experienced or understood council estate culture back in the early to mid 00s, you could relate to this song. If not, you rejected it as low-brow kistch. Either way, these 'Tunes', defined the era, and what it meant to be a working-class British youth. Like food, there is a time and a place for all kinds of music. Given the right context, these 'Tunes' are classics.
