Legendary producer DJ Premier stepped up to Ebro in the Morning to share some classic stories about the beginnings of Gangstarr and more.
He spoke on how he was supposed to work with Jay-Z before the release of 'The Black Album', recording Nas' 'Illmatic', working with Biggie before the time of 'Ready To Die,' getting new Guru verses for his new project, working with Mac Miller, & why he decided to step away from DJing the BET Hip Hop Cypher.

@Jarrel Ely No, there is another level with them. But, Guru has a deep catalog and very unique style that is his own that helped create classic hip-hop music. I put him above the likes of Nicki Minaj, T.I., and some other rappers I saw on the list

I met preemo once after a set he did at an outdoor festival. My friend and I caught him walking out to his car. He was really nice. Took a picture and then because I had his shirt he gave me his hat... tldr I have preems hat in a glass case in my room

The beats on Group Home first album was pure genius by Premier. I was blown away when i heard that album. Premier is my favorite producer, he`s the biggest reason i bought Gang Starr albums back in the day.
