Three things to take into consideration 1 they are 13 and 15 years old producing a sound like this. 2nd They are German and English is not their first language although 90% of Germans speak excellent English. 3rd Because they are German many vowel sounds have a very different inflection in German than they do in English and if you have grown up prouncingthem that way it difficult to break. In some of ABBA's songs though perfect English their Swedish accent sometimes broke through.
This is THEIR cover. Not the original. They have technically done it perfectly as far as pronunciations. You seem to be expecting an exact copy of the original. That’s never going to happen with great singers who do covers their own way.
Dear Mr. Steve. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love their performance and the reaction of the audience and judges. This video is in my private playlist and I probably watched it 50 times already. Nevertheless: Every time I hear her singing "specioul" (= special) sooo wrong my toenails roll back. And that's although I'm a German! Best regards, luck and health in particular.
When I was raised (I'm 67) my dad always told me when I criticize how someone does a particular task, I should be prepared to show them how to do it correctly, in short...back up my BS.
By stopping where you did to skip the judges comments you missed the audience calling for an encore and them doing it again where they do better the second time. Btw with the syllables being stressed the way you mention that comes from vocal coaches teaching young artists to pronounce words in a way other than how they really are to make it sound better in the singing voice as opposed to the spoken voice. It is a purely technical practice.
They won The Voice Kids in 2019. It was the first duo to win. Their parents are an opera singer and a music professor. The band is part of the team of The Voice Kids. And if you had watched it completely you would have heard the crowd asking for an encore.
Thank you for re-affiming my opinion that when confronted with real talent those who can't will criticize. Those who can saw and heared what evolved into the winners of 2019 Kid's "The Voice of Germany". These two sisters, ages 13 (red) and 15 (piano), blew away the competition.

Maybe it's because they're German. Many of us want to sound perfect when speaking another language, erasing our accent and overdoing it in the process.
Funfact: Radiohead absolutely despise the song and refuse to play it live. It was NOT written to be a "gritty and grungy" song, it was turned gritty by Radiohead because they found it so incredibly corny. Anyway - doing a cover absolutely includes doing something completely different. About the singing style: having one with a rather clearcut and "controlled" voice without much of vibrato, whereas the other doing a way more expressive style is a great contrast, which elevates the performance a lot.

Eh. I wouldn’t call it a need to be different so much as a need to be honest. As I said here, I’m not a huge fan of these “talent” shows because they rarely actually let the artist shine through and often force the artist to showcase their entire range on a single song which likely doesn’t benefit from that treatment. I would prefer to see the artists perform their true reimagining of a cover than what they think would win over a panel of judges. As stated, the two seem talented, and the song is wonderful. I just wish their taken shined in the song and that they had made it their own.
dude the WHOLE POINT of a talent show is to showcase themselves from the start....it's never so much the song as it 's about the artist themselves they absolutely have to showcase themselves
@@AlphaTylerContent i know this ....... but unless a person on one of these shows is doing an original song it's more about the singing talent than the song itself ..... i do like a lot of the talent on these shows but not so fond of the terrible contracts they make people sign...... should be a crime look into it i'm sure you'd like these shows even less don't know if you've reacted to the warning yet but you should they'er awesome

you say that you dont like these talent shows yet you seem to react to quite a few performances from them, seems hypocritical to me . Also you are getting a lot of criticism about this reaction and you dont deal with it in any sort of a professional or even mature way so I would have to grade you at about a D- for reaction credibility and likeability. Despite your claiming to not be negative you are and by the number of likes compared to views I have to agree with the rest of the viewers, dont quit your day job.
