Graeme Johnston " I want to thank you " was not a house music track at all ,but a gospel track as the vocals start " I want to thank you heavenly father for shining your light on me " It ironically was played on urban radio outside of gospel programming as it was very contemporary for its genre at the time , and now is considered a house music classic as one of the few gospel songs still played in its original form during house sets today , and one of the originators of the gospel house music genre. It found its way into early Sunday morning gospel sets at legendary NYC after hour clubs like the Garage and original Shelter for early Sunday morning worship sets for the urban mainly black crowds still in attendence at the club around 7 or 8 am when everyone should have been on thier way to a real church ( guilty ) lol
