I used to listen to this song in the car when I was about five or six, with my mother driving. She passed away a few months ago, but it's comforting to be able to listen to these songs still.
I'm 49. Proper music is the stuff the gods and the angels are jealous of. They can sense the ecstasy but not the grit and cold and blood and dirt and loss like us. We sense real love, real bliss, real loss. They theorise. This is no different to Bach or Metallica or Deep Purple (Sweet Child in Time). This is God experiencing himself. And spinning like a godhead top :D This, my friends, is the primordial sh1t. Put this on a spaceprobe and watch them reach out to us
20 years ago in the fall of 2001 I was instantly hooked on trance and dance music. This was one of the very first songs that imprinted on me and brings up so many incredible and euphoric emotions and memories. I miss those days..just an amazing time in my life.
Were you on drugs? I'm a bit of a snobby elitist with music. A huge Radiohead fan, Pink Floyd, that sort of thing, but I also can readily admit that this song is pretty great. I've always wondered though if a lot of this music was 'designed' for an ecstacy trip. I only ever smoked weed back in the day, and music was great with weed, but I've heard people say that Peter Gabriel's solo music, for example, and his music videos are steeped in magic mushroom and lsd imagery, filled with sounds that'll really tip you over the edge if you heard them while tripping. So I've found myself wondering if a lot of the things that songs like this do, is purely with a trip in mind.
@@childofthesun32 No I was not on drugs. I didn't even know what E was at the time. I may have dabbled later on, but not then. 2001 was a very special year to me for a variety of reasons. Trance/House music had its place on the path I was on at the time. I appreciate this song for what it is and also for the nostalgia it stirs up for me.
This makes me sad as fuck! Reading all these comments... For those of us who grew up in the 90's and early 2000's..... Here's to us! Now we are older in our late 20's and 30's and even 40's.... But we shall live forever through music like this
I hear ya! I remember having my 18th in my local 11 years ago and this banger comes on so me and my big bro started bouncing to this.. he passed 3 years ago and it was him and this tune that made my 18th magical. I yearn for days where music like this was all everyone listened to again :(
I know that feeling.. I remember when it came out me and my dad downloaded it off limewire, whacked it onto a CD with some other great club classics and just blasted it out through his massive hi-fi system.. pissed off the neighbours but we didn't give two shits
I'm actually sort of... tearing up listening to this. It just hit me in the brain and reminded me of its existence and I just... I wish it could be the early 2000's again. I miss when things were simpler. I miss when (my) life was pretty much all about dancing and singing and friends.
Then call your friends and go dance. It's never too late. The present is still the present. In 30 years people will be tearing up with nostalgia for the "simple 2020s".
Oh my dayz.... This was a massive track from that time and era.... Still kicks to this day December 2023 🎉 after all the rave music 🎶 this a banger 💯 💥 🕺 💃🏴
I never understood why people loved music, until I heard this song. I was like 12. It was a door opened to a whole new world of imagination. I listened to it over and over and over. I've loved techno since then. It's just magical.
Hi i'm a Beatmaker and i create the style of song, i love this, Basshunter, Cascada, Dj sammy Tell me uf you like and help me to make better quality ^^ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fzMKB3L7vEo.html Subscribes if you like ^^
I understand what you mean about opening a door to a new world. With these songs I can close my eyes and go to places I've never been with people I've never met and things I've never seen.
I wish I had been old enough to go clubbing back then. I'm old enough to remember the songs, just not old enough to have experienced a club bouncing to songs like this when they were brand new. I know you can still find places where they'll play these tunes, it just isn't the same as experiencing them for the first time at a packed out club which is basically just a legal rave.
+diornotwar123 you're in your twenties we are not old lol. Having kids now that shit ages you fast lol. Never stop the raves, chasing hot 19 yr old models and drinking silly amounts of booze etc...
+ThefarleftPCchampion 30+ years old and still chasing after rave glory just makes you look old and sad. What real difference will you ever make which is not ephemeral in nature?
Your over over 30? Im not. Keeping the flame alive is the game, face lifts whatever it takes. New drugs that slow ageing and the other ones for fun... Hedonism whilst one still can till looks fade etc.

My heart immediately starts to beat like crazy and I get this crazy dopamine euphoria every time I hear this. Man I mis being 17. It’s hard to believe but next year it will be 20 years.
I'm 37 and I remember this. Grew up on trance, techno, and alternative rock. Then got on rap and hip hop. At the age of 17 I got addicted to drugs because of peer pressure in high school. Praise God he was with me through it all. Jesus Christ gives me the peace that surpasses all understanding. Joy that lasts for eternity in the new heaven and earth. He died on the cross to reconcile us back to the Father in heaven. This Good News beats any temporal dopamine feels. That's for sure. Love you brother!
I'm very sure majority of the 70s and 80s babies can very much relate to this song. Year 2001 was one of the best years in my life and this song was part of it.
Apparently you haven’t heard Adagio for Strings. And not the watered down, beat driven, drivel some no talent hack dj ruined with undignified shreds of mediocrity. The REAL version. THAT might be one of the most incredible.
i was born in 2000 and remember my mum and dad playing this non stop throughout my toddler days.. i always remembered something "in the sky", it took me a few years and a lucky chance to realise this was the song id been wanting to find for so long, fucking banger

Windows movie maker, a loosely curated mix of trance songs with a pretty lengthy silent tail end…now this helps me remember what life is all about! Gotta find my home DDR pads again…for some reason, I’ve always felt that is song was romantic.
When I was eleven I was in an alternative school and was picked on a lot and would have outbursts of crying and basically a depressive tantrum and would get sent to the nurses office until my mom picked me up, when ever this song played on the radio it calmed me down faster than anything. So I'm thankful for who ever made it.
Just listening and remembering shit started making the top& back of my head tingle and heart race and felt euphoric. Damn to go back to those times... they don’t know these days wtf was up.
My parents are Gen Xers and techno was one of there favorite music genres! I grew up listening to this song a lot it made me imagine real castles in the sky…I’m 27 years old now and showed my 5 year old daughter and she was going wild 😝😂
Time goes too fast, seems like yesterday I was in middle school listening to this song all the time and having no worries and everything was great but oh how times change and you realise that the worlds a horrible place, forever wishing I could turn back time and live like that again 😭
listening to this makes me remember being in HighSchool and people thinking I was weird for liking this kind of music. Crazy how times change and electronic music is now considered "in" amazing.
It must be a local thing. In my area it was never "in" and as far as I can tell, probably never will be. It's cool though, I'll just keep being weird by myself.
the cheese factor is irresistible. I heard somewhere that DJ Sammy, claimed this to be trance music, and Armin Van Buuren told him this is cheesy music, not trance music 😂😂😂
The 2000s were just the best in general. Even though it ended on a sour note, it still was a damn good decade to have been young in if you were at least old enough to enjoy it.

Song came out just before I was born but I remember listening to it a lot growing up as a kid. I just graduated high school 5 weeks ago. Man, the memories…
