They work hard for it though. As far as I've read, it's at least a 60 hr/ wk hustle between performances, gym time, practice, other media and travel. All with a high likelihood of injury and a possibility of death.

Imagine being a boxer with like 20 something wins and seeing some MMA guy come into your sport against the champion of a division and make more money than you've made in your entire career and lose. And then get another fight against another champion and get another insane paycheck and lose again. It's not MMA fighters that are disrespected. It's all combat athletes. People praise Ngannou for making money outside of the UFC, without considering how many boxers are trying to work their way up the ranks just to obtain less money than someone who didn't have to do the same. It's ridiculous honestly. Lesnar did it. Punk did it. Conor did it. Ngannou did it. And the Paul brothers did it. It's a sad state of affairs for those sports in particular. DJ has even been destroying BJJ as well, there's just no money in that right now.

I mean the goal is to sell tickets. You could be the best fighter on God's green earth, but if you're boring or no one knows who you are then you're not going to be making a lot of money vs someone with an over the top personality like the Cm Punk, Paul Bros, Connor. That's why they get the big $$

@@Lolmeep That's not the goal of a real fighter just a businessman you are comparing real fighters like mighty mouse to real businessmen like conor its not the same why it would be laughable to compare him to any of the names you mentioned since he's a real fighter, conor did an elite job as a businessman and was mid as a fighter given easy fights against much smaller opponents, had conor fought in his real weight class from get go he wouldn't even be as big as he is

I think people hate on Punk when they should blame the UFC for letting it happen. I mean come on if the biggest MMA company in the world wants to give you half a million for fighting anyone would even with 0 experience.
