@MemphisEvaThere was no "gangsta music" to even be dropped or mixed in 1980. You made that up. He is right. Spanish Fly started "hitting" around 89,90.
Paul & Juice capitalize on the beats they produce & squeeky didn't, zirk even mentioned on off the porch interview once 3-6 got $$$ behind them they had better machines to produce beats
u need to tell the full truth squeeky. dj paul learned from both smk and you. smk worked with paul on his early tapes. also gave paul drums n samples. smk taught dj squeeky how to make beats n sold him one of his sp1200s that had the lock em in the trunk and lookin for the chewin beats on floppy disks.
@@deeward5572 19 n*gga 4, aint nuttin shakin, ghetto beats.. go listen to those tapes. go dm smk urself, he'll tell u all about how he was invokved with squeeky and paul. if u a real memphis rap fan, u should know this
I love Squeeky! But Squeeky and DJ Paul production was completely different. Im in their same era, born and raised in North Memphis, and Squeeky, Paul, and Juicy J music was different. Thats not to say they didn't use similar sounds but there was distinctly different production. DJ Paul Mixtapes were better than all Memphis DJs. But i definitely put Squeeky second in front of Juicy.
