YUU MONADI ML Ya you might be right but most of his Tutorials are helpfull! And some ideas for translations are Great. But i defently dont agree With the Key Thing.. he says that Mixed in Key is a must for a DJ! Look at luke, he dont use Mixed in Key at all and his Sets are absolute bangers!

Yeah! I never voted for the DJ Mag myself but wouldn't it be kick ass if we all vote for Luke? We have 160.000 subscribers over here :-D I know how LL thinks about the DJ Mag and I share his vision...but I don't know...He just deserves the attention and it would be fun to have him rank first. I'm going to vote right now .-)

Thank you for validating something I've said back when I only knew how to spin on Traktor before I learned on CDJs. I've always argued that there is nothing wrong with using Sync and in situations like these, like if you want to do multi-genre sets and need to make big BPM jumps, it only makes sense to use Sync unless you're just going to drop the next track on the 1.

Honestly this video is gold. Straigth to the point, no bs or ad sponsorship. The techniques are well demonstrate without overexplanation. Good job! Im starting to Dj Its been one week now and in 2 weeks I got my first event because my girlfirend sister prom didnt have no budget for a Dj. So I proposed myself to do the job. The fact that you mention to not go to a style to another to fast is a really good tip, I would have made the mistake for sure. My set is gonna be made in consequence. Thank you!

Thank you so much Laidback Luck. Always trying to better the experience for those that listen to what I play! Even more important is the advice at the end. You need to have a consistent story to tell, do not keep changing the genre every song. It would be like starting to read a Comic Book, then the next page is a novel, followed by a Newspaper article. Hard to follow and flow! Great job as always sir!

I've learned so much with your tutorials Mr. Luke! Glad you always put out your knowledge to all of us! I also use a lot of ''transition tracks'' in my sets, songs that already change the tempo in the middle, it helps a lot, they're key songs imo! Thanks so much man! Love from Brazil

You've made a lot of key points there with sync button. I've always managed to echo out. I've been watching your videos. How do you find time between personal time, family and shows? Not to mention the time to edit videos....you make for us fans. Awesome bro.

Good demonstration of why you should sync. It clearly provided you with the best transition. You'll get some respect for doing things the hard way but the end result is whats important. Let the haters hate.

Hi Luke, thanks for this useful vlog! I have a question for you... how do you organize your cue points? I'm pretty interested in what's behind the decision to set hot cues and memory cues in particular spots of a track for a live event like UMF or Tomorrowland. Thanks a lot from an Italian dedicated dad (and family guy too). Ciao!

I only use sync for bpm transitions. I can loop a beat or 2 from the current song, i will beatmatch the incoming song, set to the current song bpm, once I match them. Then I hit sync just so I can use one tempo fader to bring both songs to the correct bpm of the incoming song. Its a cool trick the audience usually loves to use for adding energy.

I think one very effective method from transitioning from a large bpm difference would be using the filter, like taking the filter knob to all the way to right while keeping the other track's filter on all the way to left and then taking slowly taking out the initial track's upfader and then bringing new track's filter to 90 degrees tip, you can straight go to the build up of new song by finishing the older one.

Hey Luke, Quick question about gigs. I was playing at a club last week and the promoter told me to play hip-hop all night. About 20 mins into the set I realise that the crowd was not at all feeling the music, and I kept getting requests to play more house music. I had asked the promoter and he said "no keep playing hip-hop." About 15 mins later I knew it wasn't working so I decided to switch things up and started playing a "housier" set. Once I started doing this the crowd started getting up and getting back on the dance floor and it looked like the majority of the people were having a good time. But about 15 mins later the promoter came up and said, "Hey, if you aren't going to play hip-hop I wont call you back and I will kick you off the decks right now." I decided to keep playing house music, and as it was "hip-hop" night played a lot a hip-hop remixes and mashups. At the end of the gig the promoter didn't talk to me and I know I blew my chance of playing at that venue again, but many members in the audience asked me if I would be willing to play at their private parties and events. So I guess that was good. My question is how would you react to a promoter like this, and would have done anything different than I did?
