Looks like the action 2 seemed crisper overall. I didn’t like the way the 360 synced and didn’t allow for external Sung Sd cards. And it seemed to overheat easily

Excelente comparación Amigo. Me sorprendió que la Insta360 GO 2 se comportara tan bien contra un rival más nuevo. Lo único que te faltó fue comparar la duración máxima de grabación. Es lo que más revuelo y desinformación ha causado con la DJI Action 2. Recuerdo que cuando salió la Insta360 GO, muchos le tiraron caca por que grababa "sólo" 25 minutos. Pero ahora con la DJI Action 2, la mayoría de influencers no habla de el hecho de que sólo graba 13 minutos en 4K 120 fps, esto debido al sobrecalentamiento. Algunos decían que con una actualización solucionaron el problema. Pero no he visto un canal que lo muestre en video.

great job! I was always a bit against the Insta 360, but compared with the Action 2, I believe it is the better choice, unless you are not after the last percent of resolution.

Good video, very helpful. A few things from your experience: how much video time do you get from the go2? I have read about 10min and then it shuts off. How hot does it get when filming in the pro settings? Very noticeable? And how is the lag with the connection with the smartphone? Some say it has a lot of lag when commanding from the phone. Thanks.

Nice review! My point goes to the go2. I actually have the go2 and I bought the dji action 2 on release day because of the hype :) but I will send it back when I receive it. Not such a big difference in terms of image quality, I am happy enough with the 1440p. Moreover the size and weight, the big plus of Go2 is the possibility to change the aspect ratio after the fact, I loooove that function! Thanks for your work, it is exactly what I was looking for! ✌🏼

Hi - is there audio on the Action2 if you shoot at 1080 120?

Great video ! I love DJI , but i ll go with the Go 2 this time.

I also have the GO 2, I like it a lot, it's very small and light weight, I also like the lens filter options, and the magnetic attachment capabilities. I do find that it can get hot if you keep it running for long periods. The recording time does seem a little low (I think I get about 25-30 minutes of run time on the highest settings in PRO mode, with a little more time added if I bring the settings down a notch. And when I run the camera to 0 battery, it has acted a little strange trying to get it to recharge, it seems to eat the battery power if you connect to the camera with your phone app, but they have put out some updates to smooth everything out. And I have found the recharging pack can recharge the camera fairly quickly when your out in the field. It just seems to eat up a lot of battery trying to download the current files to your phone to free up space for more recording. If your note was true and they do offer a new version with more internal space very soon, I will definitely be getting another one.

Amazing and thorough comparison of the 2 cams that are actually relevant for this formfactor! Thanks! I didn't expect the insta360 to perform so well in comparison. But I actually really like the exposure of the insta much better - the Action 2 tends to overexpose and then slowly get back to actually being correctly exposed. The Insta also seems to do a hidden face-priority in exposure while making sure not to blow the highlights completely out. Didn't know my nifty Go2 would perform so well in comparsion :) The only downside of the Go2 for me: Mounted on a drone and subject to high-frequency vibrations (100-400hz) it generates a TON of jello, especially at fast shutter speeds. So the use of an ND-Filter is absolutely crucial and sadly there is no way to tell which shutter speed it actually shoots on. I'll get an exposure meter next week to quickly find the correct filter on set so it exposes long enough but doesn't go into higher ISO... that doesn't seem to be an issue with the Action2, it certainly isn't for the GoPros. Still, I think I'll skip that action 2 and stay with my Go2 :)

Thanks for this! I had been wondering about this exact comparison! It seems to me that the Action2 still just can't beat the Hero8/9/10 for image quality. So if I wanted a more compact camera than a Hero, I may as well get the Go2 which is way smaller (and cheaper?) than the Action2, but still has decent capture quality/features (at least good enough for videos that will be viewed primarily on small screens) and can be mounted more places than the action2 (like a micro FPV drone). 👍

Very good comparison, I really enjoy my go 2 and I bought an action 2 when it first came out, I kind of regret doing that, and I’m probably gonna sell my action 2… I have filmed so much content out Paddleboarding on my Go2, and it seems like I just enjoy that camera more and more!

Can’t help but notice how much more premium the Action 2 looks and the modular design is just brilliant. Don’t mind spending extra bucks for quality especially now it comes with a magnetic protective case that makes it perform even better.

I'm planning on using the action 2 for soccer POV but was worried about the battery life, you think it'll work for 40 min half soccer games?

I have a GoPro Session and it's the absolute worst ever action cam I have purchased. The DJI Action 2 looks near identical to a Session so i'm very fearful. So yes never let the sales hype blind you.

Love my Go2. I think the new Action 2 is a little to pricy for what you get, plus it over heats, ouch. Will keep my Osmo Action camera, it's all together and waterproof complete. But the Go2 I think really hits the spot. The app also really make's things easy. But I do run the Go2 clips through their Studio desktop program and then edit in DaVinci Resolve 17 exporting in 4K. Turns out great.

Had insta for a few days... Amassing camera and software.... If it has 4k capabilities it would be definitely the best action camera for my needs... Bought action 2 in the end

In a lot of the side by side footage, the 1440p of the Go 2 looked just as sharp as the 4K of the DJI Action 2!

Is it possible to change magnetic mounts on the DJI Action 2 ONE-HANDED, maybe grabbing the camera while pressing one clip on the mount and angling it off?

Go 2 is (I have one) obviously in a league of its own if people keep comparing it to larger action cams and cams that have seen growth from the 1st GoPro to even the GoPro 10. Let’s hope GoPro can make a thumb sized camera and do fair comparisons … agreed with most comments …. Go 2 is awesomely insane … my most prized cam

can you compare photos, like vertical photos colors in different situations for instagram and such? how good is the go2 for photos? gopro takes really good and wide photos. I wonder what the photos from insta look like?

Thank you for the video! I have the action 2 and noticed the constant over exposure as well (its a DJI thing my Mavic Pro does it real bad...) It seems the Go 2 holds better colorations and seems to do a lot better with shadowing (not blowing out things like the sky and clouds) and HDR. @ 5:30 you can see that the Go 2 is also a lot wider in all directions as you pointed out which is nice. You are definitely selling me on upgrading to a Go 2!
