I've had the Mavic Air 2 for 4 years now and I can't complain, it's an excellent drone! I'm looking into upgrading to the Air 3 and this video is making my decision a lot easier, especially the low-light shooting advantages of the Air 3. Great video and thank you so much!
Thanks! My biggest gripe with the Air 2 is low light and shadows are really bad. Can lose so much detail. Interesting to see how the air 3 handles these conditions

Air 2 owner here. Definitely time to upgrade, and the air 3 has great features. Still feel the air2s has better video/photo specs. Waiting for the air 3s lol. Great video
@hardsray4068 yah, but no 5.4k, no 20mp camera, smaller sensor are big dealbreakers for my uses. The stacked sensor setup doesn't really hold a candle to the air 2s at least to me, it could be great for some tho

I have had the Air3 for about two to three weeks. I am a experienced photographer who teaches photography. I have just had a replacement Air3 delivered as the first one had a major problem in low light with noise and chromatic aberration in the still images. I am testing the replacement drone now and so far I am happy but still have to do further testing before I could recommend it. Sadly there seem to be a few others out there that are having the same issues. I have spoken to DJI and they advised me they are working on this issue. So hopefully all will be good with software updates. Good video thank you.😊
Great video! I disagree about the controller though... You have to download all the maps (tiny little sections at a time,) and you don't have Geo Fencing available on that controller. Plus, that controller is only 700nits, and my phone (23 Ultra) goes up to 1500nits; so... The controller is nice, but the the regular one has it's pro's too 👍
i have the mavic 3 classic, 2s and min 3p, so only thing i'm missing is the tel lens. plus, here in the UK, they are in the process of changing the drone laws so holding off on buying any new drone until the new laws come in. they might be removing the sub 250g freedoms too.
I don’t understand how that average screen on the RC2 is better than using something like my 15 Pro Max. Or even using my iPad Pro 12.9 with mini led and 120hz display. Can someone explain this to me?
First thing, your 15 Pro Max will auto dim on a hot day if you set your brightness bright enough and you’re not under the shade. Calls and messages coming in if you’re using your phone as a screen, unless you put it in airplane mode which many prefer not to.
@@theroychan69 Auto dim off and my iPhone is my back up phone. So neither are issues for me. If those are the only issues then that's why I think the non screen remote is better.
From the air 2, yes it's an upgrade. Air 2s to the 3 probably not worth it. I say wait for the S version of each iteration. That being said, you really don't need to be upgrading your drone on the yearly for most folks.
@@ConnorDRyanif that was true there would be no mavic 3 cine. There is always room for improvements and making expensive lens cheaper is a big deal obviously. Imagine a mini with the cine camera quality...
@@jd2161 I look at image quality dude. I don't care what they say about lenses. When the lens is that small it's really not making a huge difference. It's more about the sensor technology for small drones.
Thanks for the comparison. I also still own the Air 2 but about to sell it to a friend. Mine is in pristine condition! Well maintained and all the trimmings I purchased for it. Love the power and the features but I am ready to move up to the Air 3. About to downsize my fleet but on the fence to get rid of both of my sub-250-gram drones. So much money goes into this hobby.
I did share the night mode video, just forgot to mention it was a dedicated night mode... lol. The only drones that are below C1 are the Mini drones so I didn't find it worth mentioning at this point.
Thanks for the video. The Air2S still has better photo/video. Until DJI changes to like a bigger sensor size then there's really not much reason to upgrade. The air3 is more of a downgrade.
With other vids and file coming in after the launch period. No. I will not buy the Air 3. Maybe down the road an Air3s/pro but not as configured. Some of the lesser drones are still working and Looking just as good.

No. My Air 2S has gone up in value since the launch of the Air 3. If they fix all the problems in the Air 3S, then I will think about it. But the Air 2S has the bigger sensor and I don't need a zoom that bad to spent that to upgrade.
@@shadowofchaos8932 Just admit you can't afford the Air 3. There are no problems at all with the Air 3, the connection is much better than the old Air 2S. And a 1 inch sensor that isn't a real 1 inch sensor at all suckers. Complain when they have never flown and tested with it.
This dude doesnt make sense. Thought the air 3 would be a no go but owns an air 2 so knows itll be better Lied about battery life. I have an air 2 and it gets more like 30 mins not the 20 max hes lying about for some reason.
Don't come on my video accusing me of lying. I flew a Mavic Air 2 professionally for over 3 years. I know how long the flights last. Lol. My batteries had probably been used a lot more than yours so they didn't have the same level of juice they did when they were new.
