Thank Ian, very informative. I'm now having to reconsider a planned upgrade from my Mini 2 (which has over 100 flying hours logged) to Mini 4 Pro and instead think of upgrading my Air 2S to the Air 3S!
Act II for the Air 3 S. Beautiful countryside in which to illustrate these drone features. This play, no matter how many acts, will be a history play. No tragedy allowed. Looking forward to the next act. Cheers, my friend.
As I said on the other video, my batteries are still charging. Note to self, get a 60w charger. Anyway, looking forward to flying my 3S, when the rain stops. Fabulous gear, worth every penny. Great video Ian!!!
Fab! Can you point to a resource that simply summaries what someone like me would need to know and do, when upgrading from a Mini4Pro to the Air3s? New regs, exam requirements etc? Thank you 🙏
I didn’t catch it in the video if you already said it, but do you plan to do any videos about the new panorama features? It looks so good! I have an air 2s and I was going to possibly get an air 3s
Nicely balanced first impression. If I'd that sort of lettuce to blow on a drone I guess that might be the one... :). But not this week! Looking like midrange drones are nudging the Mavic series to - where exactly? They take voice commands? Only a matter of time till some basic AI appears in these things - indeed maybe that's what guided it while you were hiding - there was a marked lack of pausing with think time. Impressive, very much so. Have fun up in the lakes!
Great video as always Ian. I have a question and I think I know the answer to this, but I wanted to find out from you. As you have the DJI Air 3s. Does the Air 3s support DJI AirSense and the ADS-B to let you know if manned aircraft are nearby?
It looks great Ian I would buy one but air law for drones needs to change first. Modern drone have lots of features and dont hit things but you have to keep them in line of site and be able to visually see there orientation. Which means you have to chase after them as they fly. It would be a much better addition to have a plane detector which lowers you altitude if it detects a aircraft of other drone than to have night flying capacity. In reality if you are flying below 400ft you shouldn't need it but tell the CAA that.
Hia Ian, you may have mentioned this but I may have missed it, can I use the batteries and charger from my Air 3 on this drone oh and my controller the one with the screen ive got. Thanks, Kev.
@Ian Did you get a chance to see if the signal strength is any better in CE mode in the UK. I currently fly the air2s and well the signal is garbage unless changed.
Is the RC2 controller exactly the same as the Air 3 one especially relating to Ocusync version? In another video it claimed the new batteries have a higher capacity and are needed for low power file transfer? Still no real shutter on the camera unlike the old Phantom 4 models 😊
My drone rules 2024 video covers it, but basically as it's over 250gms, and assuming you don't have the UK A2CofC qualification, you have to be 150 metres from any built up area and 50 m from involved people.
What! Only 2 hours flying with the fly more kit! Dam thats a lot longer than my 35 mins with my Neo fly more! Stop attacking my Neo! Its only able to be heard at 800m distance 😅
As it's heavier than 250 grams, the rules state you need to be more than 150 metres from any residential / built up area and 50 metres from uninvolved people. You're better off with a Mini 4 Pro.
