I have had the DJI Avata 2 Creator Combo for about a month, this video is my thoughts about it and why I think this is the most exciting drone available today.
It is not a comprehensive run through all the spec sheets and it is NOT sponsored.

I bought the Creator Combo with 3 batteries, it also comes with a 3-battery charger and a case that holds everything. The 1 battery combo does not come with these accessories, which is why I think the extra $200 for the 3 battery Creator Combo is a much better deal.

Excellent view of the drone. It's not a full Cinematic drone, it's not a full FPV drone, what it is, is fun. Bought one 3 months ago and never had a second thought about buying it. Started in beginner mode, lasted 10 minutes before testing Normal mode. Did Normal mode for a couple of days then hit the switch to Sport mode and loved it all over again. Have yet to go all the way and try the other controller and full Manuel mode. Great video.

Yes, exactly the reason I got one. Had a mini 3 pro but got bored of flighing it. Got my joy in flighing back!

Found your channel today whilst looking at Garmin BP monitors. Upon looking at your other videos it would seem our interests overlap somewhat. Sub'd. Greetings from the UK. (And yes, I have a M4P, which I rarely fly after barely a year's ownership. It's high risk and yet BORING. Great footage, but yawn....)

I apologize if I missed it, but how can you move the camera up/down while flying?

So long as you are not squeezing the trigger, the camera will move up and down as you move your wrist.

Thanks! Flying through the woods and along logging trails is huge fun - the trees cut the range down a bit but still plenty of range to get deep in the woods 👍👍

I love a genuine review. I fly for a living (fire suppression tankers) and we need something to do when the world isn't on fire. My second drone... (tired of doing "dronies" already).. is the Avata 2. I am unboxing now. Love it and the goggles will work for fixed wing long range FPV..... solid FUN investment! Thank you for posting....

Thank you for your informative and enthusiastic video. Like you I LOVE my avata 2 and have already used it 50 x more than my 5 yesr old spark! I take it with me every where. Can you let us know what your shutter speed is? Or do you leave it on Auto. I ask because (maybe its my tv though) some of your footage seems a little sharp. Its how mine used to look. Like I say though it could be my tv.

Not only can you damage the motors, but you’re also stressing the ESC’s. You’ll shorten their life span….

So how did you record the goggle screen that shows all the data info? Have had trouble getting this on so I can talk about my display and settings. My Mini 4 Pro screen record, with a USB0C connected mike works pretty well. Not sure how to do it on Avata 2. Thanks for the great post! Great music choice!🇺🇸

Inside the goggles between the two screens is a micro sd card slot. Put a card in there and you can then set the goggles to record. It's 'only' 1080p resolution and there is no stabilization to match the feed from the Avata 2 camera, but it's easy to record and perfectly usable. Glad you liked the video (and the music!)

@@ThisIsJulianC Yes, I already do that, but your display shows all the parameters of the flight, not just the camera shot. The speeds, battery, and the other flight details I’m trying to capture. With my Mini 4 Pro, if I swipe down and record screen, it shows all of that, but not with the Avata 2’s goggle display. That’s what I’m trying to get.

@@hummerzdca Hmm thats odd. The default in Goggles 3 captures all the OSD (flight parameters) in the recording from the goggles. If you go in to the goggles menu, select settings, camera, advanced camera settings and make sure that Camera View Recording is enabled. The only other thing I can think of is to make sure you have enabled 'Record With' to be both drone and goggles. Hope this helps.

I agree with you on all that you said, the Avata 2 is incredible & a lot of fun. Only 7 flights so far, it’s amazing. I have a Mini 3 Pro, that experience helped me.

If you imagined what is was like to fly during childhood that's the visual experience. It's fun lke you remember just playing. My only contention is that the drone is easy to fly. Stay in beginner mode until the controls feel natural. Connect to the drone and with the motors off "hand fly it" like an old toy plane while looking through the goggles. The drone will bump into things and you learn the spatial relationships. . Great video

That’s fair. It’s easy to fly if you are familiar with flying drones, there needs to be some adapting to the different approach. The beginner mode does help for sure. If this is a first drone then I think the learning curve is steeper. For a new drone pilot I still believe the Mini 4 Pro would be a better first-drone option than Avata 2.

You stress the ESC’s when you flip it over to shut it down. That function was put there for emergencies. This will shorten the life of the drone overtime. People started doing this because it looks kool. Not to mention as you found out. It’s dangerous…

I used to do it to avoid having to carry a landing mat. All other drones I palm land now, just not this one.

@@DingleBerryschnapps Nothing. Flipping it over will not stress any components of a consumer drone. Same for turtle mode.

Great video, very informative. I've never flown a drone so torn between this and 4pro but I'm too excited by this one and if I get it, all I need is a basic 4 pro to fpv it with motion controls. You said you use 3 batteries but if the goggles and control run out at the same time which I assume they do, what then??

The goggles and controller last a lot longer. I am seeing 3 hours or so from the goggles. I do not have the goggles brightness on high, that might have an impact. The motion controller seems to have plenty of battery life, DJI claims five hours. I have not had to recharge the goggles or the motion controller as often as the Avata 2 batteries, which is consistent behavior with other DJI drones I have had. Even if I have used the three Avata 2 batteries twice in a day (used them, recharged them, gone back out again) I have not had to recharge the controller or goggles at the same time. Hope this helps

You need both, the 4pro is a flying camera and the avata 2 for fun.

Turn off the engines by turning the drone over. This is very bad. You will break the motor bearings. After you, I wouldn't buy a drone. Why don't you land it on your hand?

Thanks for your comments and concern. Haven’t had broken bearings on any drone to date. There is a greater risk of hurting yourself than damaging the bearings. I don’t think you need to worry.

Yeah, I got mine a couple weeks ago. I feel like this is the genuine “DJI Spark 2.0” but absolutely incredible to fly and stronger. My son crashed mine into a goal post, and I gave it a tumble along a grass field. Zero damage and just like a little tank! I’ll keep my DJI Mavic Air 2 for the boring stuff, but I’m having so much fun piloting my new DJI Avata 2! LOVE IT!

Spark 2.0, I like the sound of that! I’ve had a few tumbles now, partly because I can be less cautious than with a regular drone, and because I am flying close to the ground there is no risk to people property or anything other than my pride and maybe a prop. But so far, like you, my Avata 2 has taken the knocks and flown again!

I bought this you can't watch the 4k no TV or computer can read the files, no range also. I sent mine back I hope I get a refund. My 8 year old phantom out performs this in almost all areas and was half the price.

Hmm. I haven’t heard that before and that’s not my experience either. Mac and PC is able to save and edit the video footage without issue. The phantom was always a terrific drone however so if you are happy with it still… all good.
