Really good video and information on the nd filters Steve I bought the startrc set from the dji hasslblad store only gripe on my original avata my nd filter is on all the time but on the avata 2 the gimbal protective cover does not fit with one of these nd filters on 👏👍

Cheers Jim! Ahh, yes I would say I noticed this too with the DJI filters, it would be the same with any I think due to shape. I found that it should be ok to keep a filter on, but I’ve chosen to remove them now before I pack away. It’s not a terrible habit to be in anyway because I’ll probably need a different one next time 😅 but yeah I know what you mean, seems like a tighter squeeze.

Great video. I have nd filters for my dji mini 2 se. But get a little confused with them. I am in the UK too.

Thank you! Hopefully this can help for that too. I think that drone has the same fixed aperture of f/2.8, but obviously a different and smaller sensor.. but if you try following these steps, taking into account what I mention about GPS/regular drones, it should hopefully get you there. 👍

Great video, very informative! Would you revommend using ND filters when flying indoors?

Thank you! 🙂 No not for indoors, unless for some reason it’s crazy bright. Just need to test out the exposure by looking through the goggles and tweaking settings if needed. What I might do is, if its too dark for an ND but too bright without, then go without, but set your shutter to 1/200 for example (if you’re flying at 50fps, 1/240 if at 60fps), because that will still give you a pretty natural look and some motion blur if needed. It’s basically 4x the frame rate instead.

Nice video. Where are you from in the West Midlands? I'm originally from Walsall (Born in Bloxwich though the hospital is no longer there) but now living in Leicestershire so some lovely areas out here to fly drones.

Cheers! That’s cool, spent some time over Walsall way in my late teens/early 20’s but never lived there. Originally from Birmingham, grew up mostly around Shirley & Solihull, now living near Redditch. Nice, yeah I’m finding that’s the same around Worcestershire, more so than within the West Mids!

Hey mate, I would definitely go with the 2.. especially if you intend to fly some manual mode and also want the better camera! They seem to have ironed out issues that the first one could tend to have. It will naturally handle better because of the design, the battery and position makes the first one quite top heavy. It’s still good, but this one is better. Only one thing to mention about the first one and that is the frame is probably a bit tougher, but everything else is worth the change. Haha cheers! Fast punk rock fan and musician since I was a kid. 😂
