This actually happen to me, I tried to pick it up after it landed upside down while the engine was still spinning. When I picked it up the motor sped up trying to free itself from and I just misjudged where the propeller was since I tried to pick it up from the side. It cut me bad. Noob mistake but hey sometimes you got to get burned in order to learn. I am fine after a month of healing but ya I will never try and pick it up with the blades spinning again.

So the moral was don't go partially in but quickly jab the whole finger in to stop the prop and you will be okay?

Off topic but a secret you guys may not know is that some modern cars with auto up and down power windows will actually stop when they detect that a object is in the way. I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder and i can press the auto up window switch while my pinky is at the top of the window yet not get injured at all.

I had a very odd experience with my Avata 2. I had just acquired and was my very first drone. I was crazy to pilot that thing. While wearing my googles and preparing the drone to take off, I crouched my self without noticing my left knee was right above the blades. As soon as I gave the command to take off, I simultaneously heard a different kind sound coming from the drone as if it have had increased its throttle as well as a insane burn sensation arising from my left knee. Damn I had accidentally intercept the drone and now it had chopped the skin of my knee. The worse was not that, but my wife who had been around telling me from the beginning "I told you not to do it. I could felling it coming" Lol

Now imagine how much faster those props are moving when the drone is actually flying

Trying to fly it in manual for the first time i let it drift into my damn face and even with the ducts surrounding the blades it some how caught my chin and sliced a chunk of it causing blood to poor out lol. Drones are no joke!

Happened to me 🤣I was getting ready to grab the avata but had a quick gust of wind push it just right and my finger hit the props. The props shattered and only left my finger bruised up for a few days.

First, this is an expensive tool not an experimental blender. Second, this is very low power setting. Clamp the drone down and throttle to maximum and show it.

Fact - use a somewhat durable gloves when u use it. Bcs Accidently anything can happen

I have gotten my fingers in the props of loads of DJI drones, it’s kind of weird because it cuts hard things but when it comes to fingers it doesn’t even break the skin.

So I down played the power of these propellers .. I own the mavic air 2s and one day I decided to grab the drone underneath.. Controller died and if you grab it and flip it at a 180 • degrees it will shut off ( as a emergency option) Well my finger got hit with the nylon propeller and lemme tell you.. at first it felt like getting smaked with a ruler pretty hard and maybe 30 sec later my finger is coverd in blood and it cut in deep .. held it under water for a while and it didn’t stop bleeding .. Please don’t attempt to do that unless you are confident or absolutely have to do the emergency flip to power it off . Now imagine a much bigger drone !! Definitely a great way to loose some fingers lol

there is a big difference in prop speed when idling and actually flying, you basically have props running at about 20% power here

Funny story I was flying my Avata at a park in Atlanta and a kid jumped up while I was hovering at about 5 feet and grabbed the back left prop. It cut the kids finger not off but it look liked it hurt

it hurts like hell, but it's not strong enough to cut your finger off. I've got an FPV drone similar to this and has some experience of that. It'll cut you quite nicely though if you get hit on the arm like I did a while back. Nice little line across my arm still from when it healed up

One question, because in some videos the DJI Avata drone sometimes looks small and sometimes the drone looks big, I don't understand if they are different versions or that in some they are big or small.

Thought noe days these r cming with block sersor That would stop the prop. When something stuck on it and automatically turn on after 1 sec

depends i guess if the blade spins in a direction in which it will hit your fingernail first, it will probably hurt but it wont cut into your skin

Exactly this happens lol, cuz i did mistakenly and it cut my finger skin like the carrot in first attempt,and it took 2 weeks my finger to recover . 😅 . When killing the motors reversing the drone manually by hand, be carefull .

It's a bad carrot cutting machine :) Serious, you see that if you stick a carrot in the oncoming blade direction in a PC fan or any houshold fan.

It happend once on my dji mavic mini it hurted about 5 minutes very hard but then it was pretty okay

I learned the hard way on my dji FPV which is twice as fast.. took 3-4 weeks to heel, almost lost two fingers.. in other words, don't ever, ever, put your fingers anywhere near the props.

I wanted to catch the drone with my hand, but the wind picked up and my fingers got caught in the propellers. There were a few sharp cuts, some blood, but after two weeks, there was no trace left, and it didn't even hurt much. DJI Mini 2 :)

I literally have a video of it landing on me with the goggles still on & when I went to grab it, my finger went straight through the blades. Didn’t cut me tho.

does smaller drones gives you some small cuts but its not that deep and it dosent hurt.... i had the dji mini in my hands while it was flying

Good to see things that are actually quality made. Do that with an amazon drone the blades motor will overheat and blow your house right off it's foundation never to work again.

My finger got a little bit ripped off on the top but not that bad but it hurts. But also when it flies not just on the floor. it hurts a little bit

Fpv drones custom made and dji ones in acro mode (I am assuming about the DJI ones correct me if I am wrong) don't have any saftey so if you put your finger in there it will not stop. I Got tought this the hard way and now have scars going up my arm from my cinewhoop where I let it get too close to me when landing. Fpv drones or any drones are no joke.

Well last night I ended up in A and E due to my AVATA slicing the top of my finger off

I got hit by my dji mini se 2, lacerations... blood everywhere, happened three times BECAUSE of the propeller guards 😭

Hey I first hand know if you do a 3.5 upgrade kit and try to land in your hand 🤚🏻 then right before it decides to land and shut the upgraded motors off. That it will touch your middle and ring finger tips then freak the F””k out, go full hunny badger mode as it bounces off the headliner of your van cause I went through the window as it hops up and down like I offered it candy or something until it violently works its way into your floor board then decides to shut down. Within the initial first time it felt my fingers with a sec of it boggin down it took just a second to ramp full speed upwards. I lost about .6inch full circle ⭕️ of the tip on my middle finger 5 layers deep. Then my ring finger took 3 good deep slices along with my tip of the fingernail on it. Also got 3 cut scars on the top of the hand from my fpv taking off then it came at me as I try to catch it. 😅you think I’d learn by now but I get so mad when kids try to grab the drone as I’m flying and I tell them it isn’t a toy
