Throw a quick thumbs up for the Zenmuse X7! Here's my quick 5 favorite things about the new Zenmuse X7 1) 6K 30FPS in CinemaDNG - This is huge! 2) Shoot direct to ProRes in 5.2K 3) 4 new prime lenses 4) No re-balancing needed between lens changes 5) Made for the Inspire 2 What do you guys think?
SESkey yes but now that I think about it if would have to have an external recorder so I think just having someone walk around with the inspire 2 and have so one remotely operate it is going to be the best you are going to get I mean they did something similar to that for guardians of the galaxy vol 2 and like 80 percent of the film was shot that way
It's cool they invited you Bill I think Dji is really in tune with the youtubers who really talk about their products and provide comprehensive reviews
You don't VLog? Maybe you should start. This was an awesome episode. I love the format. Practice makes perfect. Maybe a corner in your new studio for a VLog set. Good luck on your new venture.
In your opinion, do DJI products (inspire 2 x7) last a long time? Am I gonna get my use of the camera/ drone past the 2 year warranty? I like your content and appreciate your feedback, thank you!
Hi Bill. Thanks for this new X7 video. Great infos. Bill i would like to ask your opinion about what should i buy? We are a live streaming company and we also have a rental operation. Till now we were using Mavic Pro but now we would like to upgrade our equipment. Z7 is really brand new. I believe that buying one Inspire 2 with Z7 and cinema combo will be a good choice but will this suitable for our live streaming customers? Thanks
Great overview Bill. Few questions: This shoots in 6K - what kind of PC would you use to edit this and how would you view it (considering there are no 6K TV'S out there)? Also did any of the reps drop any hints about a new Phantom or Mavic ? Thanks !
Bill The Drone Reviewer well it depends most Mac computers can edit raw no problem but you may need to look more into that not sure about of specs, but you aren't shooting 6k to deliver in 6k but rather scale down for better image structure and reduce grain and improve color accuracy the camera just so happens to shoot at a higher resolution because of the increased sensor size to the x5r
Realtime 6K raw isn't really going to happen right now on computer "most" people are going to buy. A better workflow is to create / use proxies (the Inspire 2 can record a lower res to the MicroSD card at same time) and link them. You use the Proxy file in your NLE (Premiere, Final Cut, etc) and link them so it renders out from the full res file.
Tom Dillon not sure but Dji are good friends with hassleblad and may have had help developing the lenses from them as they have experience with developing proprietary lenses for their products
Depends on what you like to shoot but I think for most the 24MM is likely the most versatile. It is going to be close to the 15MM (FOV wise) that DJI provides with the X5S
That's what I was thinking. I don't have the gear budget to buy all four for the the 4 grand package so I was trying to decide which one would be the best all around. We're still working with the i1 but we're definitely saving for a used i2 and the x7/24mm lens. If you think about it a used i2 plane only for $2200, a $2600 x7, and a $1200 24mm lens is a great bargain for that quality.
Say all you want to say about this Len the bottom line is cost . DJI is known for showing off some great devices but only major Hollywood Big filmmakers can pay the money DJI is asking.
+Michael McGriff at $2699 for a camera that is shooting 6k Raw it is nowhere near “Hollywood Big filmmakers”. The lenses are also the price of a “nice “ still lens. Just opposite of what you have said, this brings a more professional imaging capability to hose with much smaller budgets
Having the storage for 6K doesn't mean it does anything for you. I don't get how those two statements are related. 6k will do something for you if a project or client you are working on requires 6K footage. The storage required is marginally more than the already 5.2K CDNG with the X5S
