After many weeks of shooting with the DJI Inspire 3, I wanted to sit down and share my thoughts on its performance. I have been flying the previous generation of the Inspire for many years, so I often compare back to see what has been updated and improved.

Very thank you for such a nice review… I am a drone pilot from India using DJI drones for more than 8 years. Now I purchased Brand new DJI INSPIRE 3 and started flying it. I simultaneously use DJI INSPIRE 2 also . Some of my clients can’t afford our bill for for I3. So they are satisfying with I2. Now I purchased DJI HIGH BRIGHT MONITOR also. Started using it instead of Second Remote. Happy to connect with DJI PILOTS all around the Globe…❤

Great to hear from your thoughts. I purchased the mavic 3 pro Cine and air 3. How much different (other than the obvious) are the two from each other. I.e mavic 3 vs I3. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦

Great review bro! Definitely agree on the Mavic 3 not being up to par, yeah you could probably get similar focal lengths now with the Pro but the ISO will be unmatched! Looking forward to seeing more from this beast

Thanks for the review! The Ronin 4D has noticeable rolling shutter and I’ve been shooting in super35 mode for less rolling shutter- image just feels more solid during motion. Curious if you’ve noticed rolling shutter during fast shots on Inspire 3?

Great review! It really seems to be the perfect drone :) Personally I would have been happy to also hear a few words about the IQ when shooting still photos with it (which nobody is talking about). Still looking for a sample hires still file which seems not to exist online. Anyway, I really enjoyed the review and I'm excited to see upcoming projects from you ;)

Excellent and informative review 👍🏻 So no more bobbing up and down like the i2 does? And compass drifting is obviously less than on the i2 as well? Looking forward to testing the i3 here in Norway in the coming weeks - similar environmental situations and concerns. I really miss an IP rating on this...

Missing the IP rating as well! The bobbing up and down and the compass drift have been significantly improved. Feels similar to the stability of a Mavic now 🙂

Did you find solo operation to be pretty easy? I don't always have a second operator around to fly with the FPV camera so I'd be primarily using this like a big, expensive Mavic. Is that feasible or is this more of a mandatory 2-person team?

I fly 95% of the time as a solo operator and honestly I prefer it as it’s faster to nail simple compositions and movements, which are often what I am in need of 🙂

When you say you would trust checking it in (I3 storage case) are you referring to the airlines? Do you think this would be sturdy enough to check as luggage with an airline?

That’s a really good point, I forgot to mention the flight time! I have been getting between 22-25 minutes depending on the wind, which is often pretty crazy in iceland. It’s no mavic but it’s a big increase from the I2 and allows enough time to get sequences in the bag before needing to change lenses.

@@BenjaminHardman very strange, Our Inspire 3 Unit have no more range than Inspire 2 in our local spot. Maybe the city noise decrease the range.

Are you able to track cars as a single operator? Like put a green box over the car so the camera tracks, then you fly with the fpv camera?

Which model Ecoflow do you have? Which model would you most recommend for charging the TB-51s in the field? Would this charger work with a standard cigarette lighter in a vehicle or do you need to modify the vehicle to run it?

I use the Ecoflow Delta. I don’t think the charger will work with the lighter plug, it draws too much power.

Benjamin, Thanks for the information and the beautiful shots in this video. I have an I3 ordered but, I am told, it will not ship for 2 more weeks. Bummer!! I was in Iceland September of 2021. I didn't appease the weather gods as sometimes the rain and wind were difficult. I will return next Spring. Are you willing to reveal where the Top-down shots were taken at 1:55, 4:18 and 15:17? @@BenjaminHardman My Inspire 3 arrived on Wednesday. I've been setting up and getting used to everything at home and at the local park. I tried out RTK and it really makes Tripod mode a super-solid thing. Today I've convinced the wife to go along and be the focus puller/gimbal operator using the High Bright Monitor with Ronin Side-handles. I hope it goes well but, perhaps you know, having the wife help sometimes has issues. // Do you know how to delete Waypoint Routes (not waypoints in a route - that's easy)? DJI Tech Support hasn't been able to tell me and I haven't been able to hack to do it. // Overall, the Inspire 3 is a massive success and I expect wonderful footge soon.

re: 4000 Iso.... what exactly are you basing the image quality on?... a real cinema screen, magnified for a theatre... or on a Iphone / computer screen.... for example, the noise reduction at night?... how is this lo light result on the big screen?

It is fantastic on the big screen! 4000 is a native ISO for this sensor. I’ve personally never seen such clean high ISO footage from a drone.

@@memcrew1 for a year? maybe they did discontinue it then without actually saying they did. They really should just change the message to 'discontinued' if that's the case. It does make sense that they would only discontinue the 16mm since it's not FF and won't use the whole sensor of the X9.

I explain some of the downsides in this review - but yes mostly all positive, the I3 is a beast!

Biggest cons are short battery life (~50% of Mavic 3) and no better resistance to wind

Where do you get permission to fly a drone in Iceland?

In some areas you are free to fly, but inside the national parks and many private landmarks you need a permit. You can apply through Vatnajökull National Park and the environmental agency Umhverfisstofnun 🙏🏼

No doubt it is a very capable drone. However, people are more hostile to drone these days than the time of Inspire 2. Unless you absolutely need that low light possibilities and image quality for big budget productions, it is just way too more clumsy than the new generation of smaller drones.

@@Fluterra agree on their exceptional image quality on high end productions. What I wanted to say is these high-end drones fill a far smaller niche than 5 or 6 years ago
