Actually, I suspect that the reason dji dropped the flir was to deal with and to avoid current and possible future technology blockades from the US/west. There are several limitations on what flir can sell to some users (dji) in terms of frame rates and resolution. By making their own they have made major improvements.
Did they make it water proof yet, so that if can fly in the rain during search and rescue...? Very limited of you can only do search and rescue in nice weather.

I'd like to see the comparison between this and the Autel thermals. They dual or the 640T. I have a 640T and still amazed by what it does and still learning.And I recognize that intersection. Rt 202/Rt 1
I'll be honest, I'm waiting on the Mavic 3 enterprise model. The current mavic 3 is an amazing drone and I can't wait to see what they do for the mavic 3 enterprise edition.

The main thing about this camera is we still don't have SDK and as result compability with other app (exept buggy DJI Thermal tool 2). So you can't do thermal mapping or upload its RJPGs to some GIS.
Excellent review Billy. Increased resolution on the thermal, 4x optical and 32x digital zoom, along with the coupling of an RTK module make this a very capable solution.
Can you answer a question for me? When you take a panorama with the M2EA using Pilot are both regular images and IR images taken? Are those images automatically stitched into a spherical panorama as in the Mavic 2 Pro using DJI Go4? Thanks!
Than to think that the 1280x 1024 is already there. I still fly with the phantom 4 with the flir vue pro 640x512. But as soon as the Mavic 3 enterprise is coming out with this camera, I will invest. But I think that won't be in the near future.
People as me what is the best drone to buy. That's a loaded question. It's like which car or truck should I buy. You don't want to lead them in the wrong direction. In the last 8 years there are so many options on drones you have to watch a lot of videos and figure what you are going to use it for and what is your budget. You can get the min-2 and fly with it and decide if you want to upgrade to a more expensive drone or stay with what you have.
I have seen this on another review and I wish you mentioned; the zoom from the screen is not translated into what is saved onto the SD card... in otherwords you can`t save zoomed photos.. Are you saying that you didn`t find this a detriment to your work?

I have a Mavic Enterprise Dual FLIR Thermal Camera and I got kinda bored ´cause I´m trying do disable the thermal camera when I´m doing pictures, it always create two files and you told. Do you know if there is any way to stop it or disable the thermal cam? I´ve been looking all around about it but couldn´t find how to do it. Thanks in advace buddy!!! Regards!
Hello I have a mavic air 2s and was wondering how do you import your high quality videos without sacrificing the quality? When I upload my videos it only shows in 1080p but I shot it in 5.4K ?
No zoom in 4K? That is what the right hand stick is for….FLIR /not FLIR? Well that’s what they did with GoPro. My F550 had a GoPro 2 and 3 on it. By the time we got to the phantom 3, it was a D.J.I. Camera.
@@billykyle 😄 I love my Mavic Air 2. It only zooms in video mode and this one if I didn't misunderstand, zooms in photo mode. I would prefer that. However, when I zoom in, it's pretty clear considering the distance. If you have time to respond, cool, if not, I overstand. Do you think the thermal is worth the $1800.00 increase and will be beneficial?
Just DJI made it similar or close in parameters to Autel Evo 2 640t. I think Autel Evo 2 640t is better in application and parameters. Let's wait for Mavic 3 (Pro-Enterprise ), maybe they will change something for the better in order to be out of competition for a while.
The camera kinda sucks but it's not for cinematic video it's just for vision inspection. So that's perfect . Im not a money maker on drones but I want one of these but 8k dollars is alot.
I love the fact that you think DJI used Fler just for their name recognition. DJI is China Hong Kong Japanese base company their entire ideology is still technology and use it for themselves and that's probably what they did they stole enough that they don't need flir them anymore
The software is more than just buggy, its shit to be honest. They just threw out some BS as it definately isnt as good as Flir Thermal Studio Pro. I also would like to comment on how DJI once again screws their customers by not opening up the menu so you cant change any of the settings on this thing either. As far as I'm concerned its a paper weight until they open it up with a firmware upgrade so you can change file formats and get to the R-Jpegs then you could probably run them thru Flir's software.
