I ended up trading my fpv gear for a mavic 3 (non classic) and this drone is awesome. Coming from the OG mavic pro to the 3 was such an awesome step up!
Nicely done video! I order the Mavic 3 Classic a couple of days ago; arriving sometime today... upgrading from my old Phantom 4 which I didn't use as much as I had hoped, mostly just because it was a pain to take out.
I agree about the dynamic range of the Mavic 3 Classic. It it very noticeable when editing footage compared to my Mavic Air 2. Also since a can stop down the aperture I can get the best sharpness.
Bruh... Fantastic video review. Great quality, excellent delivery. That audio is crissssssp. You've sold me on this drone. I'm still flying with the original Mavic Air and I hate it. Lol! Been out of the game for a couple years but I'm jumping into real estate videography so I need the upgrade. Thanks for this awesome and informative material!
Finally, this is the review I'd been waiting on as an M2P owner. It'd been really hard to find reviews since the first M3 versions came out that touched on more than just the spec sheets. In my mind the difference in the side by side examples was pretty huge. Aside from the big dynamic range increase, the way the shadows are rendered looks much more accurate and the highlights just look so much better. I'm curious about what you've noticed with rolling shutter? From what you show with the Rivian it doesn't look bad at all, but obviously the rolling shutter on the M2P is awful!
Really excellent video. I recently got a Mini 3 Pro and have been loving it as my first drone. After messing with color grading I can see the ''Mavic 4 Classic'' in my future for sure.
i dunno bout the 3 cause i really like the tighter crop of the mavic 2 pro. It has 2 lenses pretty much. Does the mavic 3 classic still have this ability ?
Great overview. I like my Mini 2 and Mini 3 Pro. I would like to add the Mavic 3 Classic but am concerned about its noise level. With the minis when I fly in city and county parks, people rarely give me a look. Will the Mavic 3 Classic draw too much attention? Thanks for the presentation.
It's certainly louder than the Mini. But I don't think it's so loud that you can't fly it with people around. I've found people who get annoyed by drone will always be annoyed whether it's quiet or loud haha
Great video! One question: Is there no VLOS rule in the US? Can you fly the drown outside of Visual Line Of Sight? You mention around 7:30 you were flying far away from your starting point.
You would have to file the waiver stating your intentions to go beyond VLOS and how you will keep the mission safe. This waiver is almost never granted. If you are a recreational remote pilot in the US, it will not be granted. If you are a part 107 certified remote pilot, you can file the waiver and try to justify it, but I’ve never seen or heard of this getting approved. You are required to see your drone without the help of technology (minus corrective lenses). You cannot use a Visual Observer stationed far away either, because they have to be co-located with the remote pilot in command. Basically, if you see things like “range tests” or content that is obviously BVLOS, it is probably just illegal in the USA. Unless they have a waiver. But things incredibly unlikely because they FAA does not want the increased risk to manned aircraft operations. Hope that helps!
DJI aren't planning on doing that for this drone or the original Mavic 3. The only option within the Mavic 3 lineup that will offer this is the Mavic 3 Enterprise
I’m in the process of getting my part 107 license I’ve been stuck on which drone I wanna use and I’ve been real stuck on the Mavic 3 classic I’ve checked out the other dji drones but I’ve just been stuck on the Mavic 3
