I am thrilled to see that you still have the Ifixit kit and it worked pretty well with repairing this drone. I know working with some things you need the very small screw bits and tweezers and plastic picks to safely pry things open.
I just finished installing front arms on an MA2. For some reason one arm was quite easy whereas the other must have taken me 100 attempts before everything lined up correctly and I was able to insert the screw. One thing that helped was a small vise to hold the axle. It's necessary to put a half turn on the black plastic arm, and the vise holds the axle steady while you do this. I also put a little copper grease where the bottom pin goes into the small hole. Also, the arm needs to be pointing towards the rear of the drone, rather than in it's normal open position. (paul)
Great repair video! Nice to see drone up and running with cool shots at the end! 👍 Only I was a little bit scared in that moment, when You try to disconnect antenna wires with metal screwdriver near these 3 small SMD components on PCB for antenna.. I'm glad, that You didn't rip them off by accident, that will be a disaster!! But otherwise, perfectly accomplished job! 😉
Hi Arturs Mihelsons Thank You very much! I was also not happy about the amount of forces that I needed to use to get that antenna off,, glad you liked the video :-) Thank you for watching! :-)
Sorry, it's probably me but I can't find the link to the German company where you purchased the parts ? Thanks for the video, I feel a lot better now 🙂
I am absolutely with you about the bewilderment about the complexity of the design and the number of seemingly unnecessarily heavy parts of the drone. There is a load of potential for improvement there, and DJI would be well advised to make use of it before someone else does an nicks their crown as top producer of small high quality camera drones!
Not to be rude or anything, but you have forgotten to dress in the white antenna wire nicely on the bottom side. Previously (see 15:09), when you pulled it out, it was hooked onto the plastic bits sticking out from the case. It may be just a cosmetic issue, but may result in squeezed antenna cable? (24:06 you even mention that the antenna cable seems to be a bit longer, in 24:58 you can see you just pushed it away, not really where it is supposed to be)
Hi, I was wondering if you have any tips for putting the arms on the front of the drone with the big splint. I have replaced the two in front, but I am having a lot of trouble putting the arms back together. The splint is what holds the arms, which is difficult and few in the way.
Hi,, I am afraid I only did this video because I had this issue,, and saw that there was not that many that had shared a fix. I only looked in to how to replaces the back arms.
My drone flew into a very tall tree. Drone fell down and broke the rear left motor. All the props broken off as well. I ordered a new arm. I see i have a lot of work to do. I have a Dji Mavic Air 2 also. I also order the iFixit kit.
Have you ever published a RU-vid Short? Maybe you could do some drone footage of the e-bike and post on RU-vid as a Short. The e-bike company might like that enough to send you other things to test/use.
Thank You Robert,, the bike company is all appy with the first video,, It was just my pride,,, when I promises to do something,, I do really try to keep it. I do get nice offers to review stuff,,, said no to an electric skateboard just this week,, I did not think it would be relevant,, and I am just getting to old. You will be getting a sponsored video this comming week,, of something I asked to get to review :-)
