If you fly out say 1400 feet from "home". Set RTH Manually. Then Fly home or some where else. The press return to home - You can control the camera as you fly OUT!! to where you have set "HOME"

Old feature that was in the mini 1 and they got rid of it in a firmware update for some reason. Glad to hear it’s back.

I like the way you aggressively smacked the drone on the ground great video I’m still nervous about taking mine out I just got it two days ago and trying to go over all the ins and outs. 600 bucks isn’t a ton of moneyBut I just don’t wanna make any mistakes the first time out.

The bonus feature with this move is setting your return to home point somewhere else using the map so you can really fly anywhere in a straight while focusing on filming BUT if you loose signal during that move, you better KNOW you can get to the new home point and fast. . . .

This could be a much better feature if it allowed you to get a full screen map to choose your new home point AND if you could change the RTH speed. Turning off the beep would be a bonus. I also tend to have the gimbal go wonky when flying at 90 degrees to the flight direction.

Thanks Marcus. I found out about the altitude thing by mistake. Was trying to maneuver the aircraft in RTH then noticed my altitude decreasing.

So basically what you're saying is that you can do everything you would normally do in regular flying ... but now also in the RTH phase ... EXCEPT change your direction, correct? If this IS correct, what are all the things that you CAN'T do in the RTH phase?

Do you think they will add the ability to adjust the speed?

Not sure...the automated failsafe is designed to calculate the distance from the air to the home point to ensure you have enough battery to return home. If we're able to adjust that speed during RTH, there's a possibility you can drain the battery quicker.

Nice Video Chad. Explained very well. I have the Evo1 but looking at the Mini2 as it is so much more portable. My only concern is I have a Android Samsung Galaxy S8. I've heard some had no problem and some the app crashed now and then. Anyone using an Samsung android with the mini2?.

Thank you. Yes I'm using a Galaxy S9 and not having any problems so far. There was an issue a while ago, but none since the last few updates.

I have seen some videos where they say that the speed of return is controlled by the Speed Mode, Normal, Cine & Sport once that is set. I have not had a chance to check it out yet though due to lockdown in the UK :( It would be great to lock the Altitude, DJI are you listening!!?

Mine is already downloaded but no option to install it but when checking it. It already on the latest firmware and still unable to control the aircraft while RTH. Kind of weird. Anybody know how to fix it ??

Not sure why thats happening. Just make sure you have the latest aircraft firmware (v01.02.0300) and latest app (1.3.1)
