the anafi has a bad wifi range, if you fly right above you, after 100 metres it gives low signal, there are lots of warnings of signal lost, low signal, and the mini2 has none konnection issues, thats a bit difference, also the anafi is very expensive and after a year the battery runs dead. anafi battery 100 euros, mini2 battery 45 euros
Hello... I have a Parrot Anafi, I had the opportunity to fly with a DJi Mini 2 and comparatively, the Anafi is much better than the Mini 2. This is also the reason why I still keep the Parrot Anafi. A Dji Mavic Air 2 S can be over a Parrot Anafi but never a Mini2. All the best and good luck with your RU-vid channel.
I've received the Parrot Anafi FPV around two weeks ago as well. I've slightly modified it by adding cushions on its feet and at the edges + screws in form of waterproof black tape. It should be far more durable as a result. Also, this might be interesting to know: The FPV edition has thicker legs similarly to the military edition. Quite dope. Though I haven't flown it outside yet since I'm far too paranoid on the reliability of wifi. I still haven't tested it throughoutly enough. Just at home. Even though it's the quietest drone copter at its weight class respectfully, it's still quite noisy indoors.
@@VinnyUnion I tested the drone in all conditions. My recommendation is that when you fly the drone outdoors, switch your phone to airplane mode but leave the wi-fi active. And, the most important thing to remember: never use the automatic return to home function. It is known to make mistakes. I didn't listen, I used the automatic return to home function and lost the drone which crashed into a river where it stayed for 24 hours until I found it.
Me too; i.e. I would have stuck with my Anafi, but, just like you, the new regulations prompted me to buy the Mini 2. I now have the A2 CofC qualification, so can fly them both in A1 airspace. Stay safe! Ian :-)
nice comparison and nice footage! I own a mini 2 and love it so much but still wanna add parrot anafi as my second drone because of the gimbal ability that can make 180 degrees vertical.
I have the mini 2 and I'm probably going to get the anafi because of the unique camera capabilities and hdr video. Also lots more features on the anafi than my mini 2. I have a bebop 2 and know what to expect with the wifi. I personally like the camera better on the anafi than the mini 2.
Hello Shawn, greetings from Louisiana! I have both of these drones. I purchased the Anafi 3-4 years ago. I just purchased the mini 2. I also own a DJI Spark and a Mavic 2 Zoom. I was in the process of starting a drone business here in Lake Charles, when Hurricane Laura destroyed my office and damaged our home in August of 2020. I decided to put my business plans on hold while we put our lives back together after such a devastating storm. I put all of my drones in storage and only recently started evaluating their condition. I charged all three batteries for the Anafi and was surprised to see they all seem to work after sitting dormant for so long. After updating all the firmware and software, I flew it for the first time a few minutes ago. The flight went well. I decided to look on RU-vid to see if there were any pilots still flying their Anafi. It was good to find you! How long have you owned your Anafi, and are parts for it still available? I just purchased the Mini 2. I wanted to add a drone in this weight class to my fleet. So far, I'm impressed with its quality and performance, but then, that is what I have come to expect from DJI. All of their products have performed flawlessly for me. Thank you for sharing your evaluations!
Hi Mike. Thanks for the comment. I sold my Parrot Anafi last year. It was that because there was anything wrong with it but because of new drone laws in the UK. I am able to fly the DJI mini in more places because it weighs less. Good luck with your new drone business.
Thx for the comparison. Both drones doing their job quit good but the Mini 2 has the "lightweight"-Bonus and that was the reason to buy it. It´s a great drone.
Mini2 is a must. I wouldn't wait for the mini3. The. Hubsan mini I would stay away that company has serious quality issue. Maybe go with Autel if they make a mini.
The Parrot Anafi is slightly heavier but handles the wind much better than the Mavic Mini 2. I Have flown the Anafi close to 25-30mph with no issues, it is a solid flier under any conditions. Freeflight 6 is a feature rich app for the Anafi which includes FlightPlan (my favorite), which I have used extensibly and it has never failed me. The video and photo quality of the Anafi in my opinion is slightly better than the Mini 2 producing a sharper image with more details. The only drawback of the Anafi is probably the WiFi interference in some urban areas, but I use it mostly in remote locations and in airplane mode.
I’ve my Anafi excellent range up and excellent quality video, love that Zoom and ‘Doesn’t lose Focus’, people who have poor range are forgetting to turn WiFi off and change location to U.S in settings for better BAND Wave 👋
I have both as well. I love both. The one gripe for the Anafi is the range. To me it has one of the best control apps of all of my drones. I also like the Anafi because it is not restricted by geofencing like the DJI. If you have ever run into the geofencing of the DJI drones it can be very annoying. The last gripe about the Anafi is cost for batteries. Here in the US they run about 100 dollars. The Mini 2 gripes. Well the geofencing is the biggest one for me. While it does better in the wind than my Mavic Mini it does still have its limitations in that regard. I have had the Anafi out in 30+ mph gust and it has been rock solid. I guess the bottom line is neither is perfect but they are pretty close. That's why you always got to have more than one. lol Nice video.
Is the wifi that bad with parot drones? I have a mavic air 1 which also uses wifi and my signal is always rock solid, saw so a video where someone get 5km with the air and only had to return because of battery, probably could have gotten 6 or 7 km if it wasn't for battery....that being said lots of people complain about the air's wifi as well...
@B wayne Ocusync improves only the connections but not the functions. Cam without HDR is stand 2010. All the missing functions make mini 2 to a beginner drone only.

@B wayne I currently have the mini 2. I love this drone but I'm missing out on camera features. I want to do more with this drone but I can't. I also like the video better in the anafi than my mini 2. I have the bebop 2 power so I know what to expect from video transmission. I'm looking to get an anafi asap
@B wayne Mavic 2 and evo 2 pro are great drones! I will probably give hubsan a chance as well in the next year or so. I'm looking to buy the air 2s or the anafi during the holidays. I want a drone that's not expensive, feature packed, but still has professional looking film.

Good comparison! It was actually one of your earlier videos that helped me to decide on the Anafi a couple of years ago. It is a great drone and has served me well. The Mavic Mini 2 is certainly worth considering if you want to have the freedom to fly in more places. Personally nearly all my flying is done in the middle of nowhere, so the Parrot will work for me just now. One issue I have always struggled with a bit with the Anafi is the colour representation. I find it takes quite a bit to get the footage to look natural. It does tend to over saturate greens and this can be an issue if you are filming in the countryside. I may get a Mini 2 also. :-)
Put the ANAFI in ‘p log’ flat colour profile then do your own colour corrections the advantage is all the data is recorded in raw format without loss of quality.
@@reflexxtr I have recently started doing that and the results are way better than the presets. It does take a little bit of time to get the desired result, but it's well worth it.
the Anafi is still a bit underrated. maybe it looks more like a toy and dji drones looks more high quality? But the camera is excellent, the handling is easier, the app is excellent and lastly the anafi drone is very, very quiet. Also the mavic mini has some advantages, but i think i would buy the anafi again. thanks for the comparison
As a hobby filmmaker, it's also a financial question ... a drone is enough for me. If you still consider where (at least in Germany), theoretically, you are only allowed to fly, then buying a drone is hardly worthwhile ...
The rules are a little confusing. To sum them out: All drones= Register your drone and take the only test for the ID. The cost is 5. More then 250g= you need the A2 C of C for more freedom. The cost is like 100 depending on where you take the exam. Ps. I thought the parrot was less then 250g... good information.
If you live or fly in EU or UK, than you need to read the rules more carefully. So about the sub 250 drones: Previously, these drones didn't need to be registered due to their sub-250g weight, but this requirement has now been extended to all drones WITH A CAMERA. This means owners of those drones, or any with a camera, will need to register their drone with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and get an Operator ID. So you need the same licence to fly Mavic mini 2 or Parrot anafi ;)
Hi Izidor you are correct to fly a drone now you need a flyer ID which requires passing a online test and must register as a UAS operator but there are also specific new rules depending on what type of drone you have and how you fly it. Any drone that weighs less than 250g falls into Open category A1 which has less restrictions than the category that the Anafi is in

The Anafi was my first drone and it's really good for video/photo but sadly it suffers badly from signal loss, so I bought the Mini 2. It's so much better and can fly further without the signal loss.
Anafi was released 3 years back and it is still competing with current drones is amazing. It is so feature rich and 25mins flight time 2018 was not common. As far as I know they are not going to make any more consumer drone sadly. I had Anafi and reluctantly let it go after experiencing handful of video feed issues even after selecting wifi band manually. No complaints with Anafi except the connection issue where I live. I had never used Mini 2 and I suppose Occusync would be lot better. I enjoy follow me mode and I am not sure if DJI would even add it to their next mini version not to cannibalize the DJI Air market. However nice to see some competition from Fimi and Hubson in this segment, hopefully that would make DJI to unlock follow me.
Do you still fly your Anafi? I bought mine shortly after it came out years ago and it's been mothballed up until a few weeks ago I got a hankering to fly it again. I have forgotten how to use it as I fly the Autel Lite Plus mainly these days. But I want to see what the old Anafi can do. I tried to fly it today and it would not hold connection. I think it's just the cable so I'm gonna try another. I ran out of time today, but soon I will give it a shot with a new cable and try it again. I appreciate your and Ethan Mitchell's refresh on how to use it again.
Very nice machines. Sometimes the sound is a good thing. But yes I would like to purchase the Anafi . But I have the Parrot bebop 2 it's lasted way longer than I thought it would. It's been year's of flying it . No where close to the Anafi 21mp don't think there is a consumer machine that capable. Ttys God Bless

The video between the two are very comparable. The Parrot is a little cheaper in the states, but not by much. The DJI has better range, by literal miles, the Parrot has more features. I might end up owning both in the end. I have the Mini 2 now
Really enjoyed watching. I looked at the Parrot but after I learned about the legislation changes this year decided on the Mini 2. I do love my Mini but not a huge fan of the Fly app and even though I'll be doing the A2 CofC this year can't say I'm fussed too much about DJI's Air 2S. Maybe I'll have a look at Autel when I've got a few more pennies. Anyway, thanks for uploading and have a like and a new subscriber!
Love my Parrot Anafi its a carry around work horse and a very hardy we drone and there after sales are top class, Mini 2 looks good but for wind i don't know the Drone i used most is my Yuneec h passed my A2cofc so weight no problem for me guy i might have a look at bit more weight for the Fraserburgh north winds keep up the good work love the way you explain things nice and calm .
I’ve had both and I’m telling ya the parrot absolutely destroys the dji there’s no comparison specially up in the air there both made good though but the parrot has way more features it has alot more power too u can feel it in the air

I'm in same position, have had the Anafi a couple of years and bought the mini 2 due to the new ruling. Personally I think the Anafi is far superior with the exception of the WiFi, I get interference at 100 metres when near WiFi bubbles but better range in the country. The Anafi picture quality is much better and p-log on video gives more flexibility. Also cameraman really is a bonus. The mini has issues with gimbal levelling and judders a bit. I hope Parrot will release a C1 marked Anafi before end of next year as mine will probably need replacing by then
Thanks for the video, I have the anafi and the mini 1, both are wifi. mini 1 not occucent like mini2. I find the anafi good in the wind, not as good as the bebop2 but much better than the mini1. Fottage from both are more than fine though you will need a more powerfull PC to be able to playback the Anafi above the mini1 or bebop2. I fly all 3 every week and with all that said my drone of choice in places I have not flown before is the Bebop2, Just more rugged and more tollerable of wind and such. Bettter video quaality though on the other Anaafi and Mini1. Bebop2 only 1080P but very good in good light.
ahoy! great video! cannot compare the two! because of the viewing window. BUT While one catches the whole picture and also has the ability to focus on part of the picture, the other only shows you whats goin on below, less birds, less sunsets, less lightning, less everything. The best depiction is the trash on the banks and the estates in the back, trash shows up more when the camera has a more limited up and down spectrum. 12 cameras have the darkness, the flatness, the rolling contrast, and the overall lighting. With these new wave of cameras you pick up on more of the color spectrum and much much further away. The pixels create zones and definition, they illuminate for the eye to see. The beautiful 12 cameras show the shadows in the rows of crops and the ditches, but won't tell you what's growing or whats in the field eating your crop, a lighter, brighter eye in the sky will. The human eye had to learn the more complicated colors so just as old photographs have a smaller BIT, our eyes have evolved to see much much more and have been trained to understand them. Now that we can understand this, and we have taught our TVs and other devices how to process them, we can capture infinitely more content with the darker, sexier materials that last longer, and hold up when shit goes down. Good machines require good batteries, but more importantly proper care. Having the angst to bring her home safely, with haste, is extremely valuable. I think once you learn to fly, having that pure 4K uninterrupted submersive experience tips the hat. Thanks so much for breaking it down. Salud 🙏🏼

I would still at least register the mini2 even though technically you don't have to. If you somehow get in trouble or reported it just easier to have the registration on you. DJI already has there own version of remote I.D. But no one wants someone who's crazy or a Karen using an app to find your location to confront you. So I will not be using the remote I.D with my mini till I see how it all plays out.
Me too, I think the only draw back for the Anafi is the WiFi connection. I wish it had something like the Occusync. My favorite part is the programming mode (Flight Plan). It makes me a better videographer for sure.
Great comparison! I also own the Anafi (extended version) and am completely satisfied. Compared to its predecessors (Bebop 1 and 2), the Anafi is a huge step up in terms of size, battery power and image quality.

I believe Anifi is remote ID compliant and DJI mini 2 isn't. Good luck paying 199$ extra for the mini 2 remote ID module if you use the mini for anything that makes money.
@B wayne I have actually always wondered about this, because people seem to assume that occusync is a totally different system. If its still a type of wifi, why can't drones like the mini 1 and air 1 use the dji smart controller?
@B wayne also, just out of curiosity, why is occusync so much better if there is obstacles like trees between the drone and controller? The occusync obviously shines in city environments because of the automatic channel switching and the fact that it has way more channels, but in a low interference area, wouldn't they both be limited by trees and other obstacles? Whether the drone can change channels automatically or not, you would think that both systems would have trouble penitrating through obstacles.
