Worked in this building late sixties when it was a warehouse for Standard Liquor Corporation. The building that went across Waterman was the old Ice House for the Railroad before refer railcars and a warehouse for Allied Van Lines at the same location of underpass of the main lines for BNSF. Most of this end of downtown was very busy with lots of activity cause of the railroads all part of what is now Old Town. No empty lots, the beating heart of the city, and skid row.
That building was a warehouse that spanned over Waterman street. Long, long time ago the street went through the building. I used to beg my Mom to drive that street just so we could drive through the warehouse! It was so cool!!! This was back in the 1970s and early 1980’s. Not sure when they cut the building off and made it only one side of the street. Every time I drive past now I recall how it used to be and wonder if anyone else has the same memories of driving through part of the building as I do? I also wonder why the street went through the building and not around it?
